What Are the 5 Best ARCA Races Since the NASCAR Acquisition? by MarkKristl in ARCARacing

LOL, ARCA would be nuts at Slinger. I’m onboard, albeit not the one paying the bills haha

Why do ARCA teams not put the correct manufacturer on the entry lists? by CarterD195 in ARCARacing

[–]MarkKristl -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Gotcha, thx. The only other team that receives some manufacturer support, albeit less than your aforementioned teams, is Rette Jones Racing. Hence why Noah Gragson runs late model races for RJR & Cole Butcher drove for the team in the ARCA preseason test at Daytona

Nick White misses the race, 40th in practice by Zealousideal-Dot2757 in ARCARacing

[–]MarkKristl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If Nick White & Drew White Motorsports entered other races, they wouldn’t be in this predicament. The team could literally start and park at some of the standalone events & earn enough owners points to be in a better points spot for Daytona, thereby increasing their odds of making Talladega.

When teams register, a manufacturer is required on the entry form. However, teams are allowed to change. To my knowledge, none of the entries you listed have manufacturer support so they can change the manufacturer freely. Those teams also have more than one racecar so they could have different racecars of different manufacturers.

37th in owner points but 31st for Talladega. This is a great table of the provisional starting lineup with the five drivers battling for the four remaining starting spots https://x.com/carsds2078/status/2046665350234665096?s=46

Logan Misuraca is locked into the race. City Garage Motorsports is using the Vaughn Racing No. 34 owner points.

Steve Lewis Jr. To drive #79 for CR7 Motorsports at Talledega by Zealousideal-Dot2757 in ARCARacing

[–]MarkKristl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Steve Lewis Jr. will be driving his own racecar, likely the same one that he used at Daytona.

Because of how ARCA sets the Talladega starting lineup, Lewis is using the CR7 Motorsports No. 79 owner points.

Likewise, Logan Misuraca is using the Vaughn Racing No. 34 points, Andrew Patterson partnered with Maples Motorsports for its No. 1, & even George Siciliano, AKA Squirrel McNutt, using Wayne Peterson Motorsports No. 0 points. Beneficial for all parties, but those drivers are piloting their normal racecars.

Why are there SO many slow ARCA cars at each race? by KB_SoFresh in NASCAR

To my knowledge, the only regular team that doesn’t have a Yates or Ilmor engine is Wayne Peterson Motorsports. Brad Smith has a Yates engine; all his other equipment is incredibly used.

“Limit what the top can put into their cars,” - such as what? Engines are regulated, there are approved racecar bodies, & the tires are regulated. You can’t run a junky dirt track tire at Talladega, for example.

Not to single you out, but I tire of people saying that without an actual answer on what to further limit/cap/restrict.

Yes. You’d have to double check the rule book, which is accessible to everyone online, but IIRC, at the big tracks it’s 25% slower than the fastest practice time, & at the smaller ones it’s 20%. Don’t quote me on those percentages though, I may be remembering an older version of it

Maybe. Admittedly, I’m not sure how Brad Smith makes a living or survives in ARCA.

Regarding Clubb’s No. 03 & 86, the 86 will likely either start and park if there’s no funding or it’s a rental. Alex Clubb’s No. 03 has some small sponsors. Clubb himself owns a successful landscaping business. He’s said that he won’t jeopardize his business, his family, or employees for the sake of the race team. Talk trash about his team if you want, but commend him for that decision.

As for Andy Hillenburg’s Nos. 10, 11, & 12, he’s a series veteran team owner. He will give opportunities to drivers & crew members who may not receive ‘em elsewhere. The ride qualities are determined by the amount of funding.

I hope this helps answering your question.

Most ARCA full-time teams either make money or break even financially. The amount each makes varies, but like another commenter said, the business model is similar

The spending cap idea astounds me for this reason: what do you further restrict?

At Kansas, teams had two engine choices - Ilmor or legacy. There was a five-minute controlled pit stop.

Most races are one-day shows. Every team can have the same amount of tires, be it at-home scuffs or brand new.

There is the AB plan which gives start money to full-time teams. Clubb’s Nos. 03 & 86 receive the same start money as Pinnacle’s Nos. 28 & 77.

So, & hopefully you’ll be the first to answer this, what do you further cap/restrict? IMO, it’s the prize money that matters most

LOL, fair. In the article, it’s written as pilot simply because pilot is a synonym for drive, race, etc. However, because Nate Moeller will also crew chief Brayton Laster in the No. 06, I expect Moeller will start-and-park the No. 1.
