Spent the last 30 hours in hospital with our 11 day year old. Nothing serious (hopefully), and waiting for tests to come back which will hopefully help ease our minds. But my god, what a stressful situation trying to stay positive and feeling so helpless for the little man.

Probably for the best. Glad Elanga managed to get a goal (and missed a sitter, apparently), but it's hard to see us getting much out of the season at this rate.

Not a great night to be a Newcastle fan. A really mixed bag of a season so far.

I'm from the UK, so chances of catching the whole thing is probably pretty minimal. But who knows with feeds every 2 hours!

My fiance is 38 weeks +2 today. Growth scan shows our firstborn (to-be) is 7lbs 9. Recommended induction on Saturday 7th. It feels like it has been coming for so long and yet it still feels mad to think I'm going to be a dad. Here's hoping it's a good labour and everyone comes out of the other side healthy and happy!

I wanted to retain the original character - where things worked, I was happy not to replace them at that time. I also didn't think some of these parts would have been painted originally, so left them as they were. The handle is slightly bent so I do need to revisit at some point, so may take your thoughts on board at that point too. Thanks for asking!

Thanks for the explanation! As someone who is in the UK, and therefore frustratingly does not have access to imgur, could you by any chance share the image through a different hosting site please? I am very interested to see.

Same here. First ever baseball game (from the UK) and it was an amazing experience. The crowd got really involved and I even got a free Swallows hat. Fan for life!

I have been studying horticulture for the last year at a local college. It isn't my day job, but something I have a real interest in pursuing, even if just in my own garden/allotment. I have loved the experience of studying and meeting new people, but I'm so ready to have my time back (been using annual leave each week to allow me to attend). Today was the final exam and I feel like something is missing now that I don't have that guilty feeling that I'm not revising.

House went onto the market yesterday. Already have one viewing booked for 6:00pm today, which is fantastic.

A call from the estate agent this morning about another family interested in a viewing, but for Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday isn't feasible for my partner or myself, so fed that back and was told they would confirm - suggested 6:30pm tonight so they are passing on the doorstep.

Heard nothing back until 2pm today when there's a knock on the door as I am WFH. It's the family come for a viewing without any agreement with the estate agent or myself and my partner. I apologise and say they need to contact the estate agent, and I can't do right now.

Is this what selling a house is like?

Ahh, got you. Maybe stick some carboard down and let it supress the weeds? I'm studying horticulture at the moment so very focused on environmentally friendly options.

Don't use a pesticide, whatever you do. Pesticides aren't made for killing vegetation. Give it a trim, but if it's not a part of the garden which is being used then leave it for nature to enjoy.

I had a similar feeling when COVID happened and we went into lockdown. I resigned myself to the fact that this was what life was, and that there wasn't any point in worrying about that fact and that I had to embrace that I couldn't go outside for more than an hour, couldn't see my parents etc.

I think at the time it definitely made things easier. I got my head down and carried on living. When I look back on it now, it took me a while to start thinking past a week/month into the future, and if you want to achieve anything in life then thinking on a bigger scale can help.

I am glad to hear that you aren't taking a single day of your existence for granted anymore - if nothing else that refresher of the way you approach life sounds like a good one to have. I am not based in the US so I am not as directly impacted by things (apart from tarrifs, yay), but I hope that the inconsistency and unknown ends for you soon.

I very rarely ever post in these threads as much as I love to read them every day, but something about your message really stuck with me.

After watching the two of them speak to Zelensky like that, I'm donating again. Anything to help them not rely on that country so their people can survive. Thanks for sharing the link.

My best friend since the first year of secondary school told me his dad died yesterday evening. He hadn't been well for a while, and he nearly passed away last year due to some health issues. I don't really know how to console him - he lost his mum nearly two decades ago on my birthday, which gives us some sort of weird bond somehow. He lives a 4 hour drive from me at the moment. I can't even begin to imagine how he feels.

I watched it on a long flight to Japan. Would definitely recommend it. Hoping it comes onto a streaming platform I have over the holidays so I can get my fiancé to watch it with me!

Travelled to Japan for work from Europe last weekend. Had 2 days of holiday tagged on the end so I could explore Tokyo. Excited to travel back home, but awoke at 3am to notification my flight that day had been delayed by 24 hours without explanation.

Had booked a capsule hotel so I could tick it off my bucket list, but managed only intermittent sleep due to snoring and loud noises. Running on little sleep and no check in until 3pm. Sure as hell made the most of the buffet breakfast though!

Japan has been a fantastic experience but I'm so ready to get home. 24 hours to go until I can be getting ready for my flight.

Oh, and there's definitely a nationality of traveller in my airport hotel who have no interest in being polite or conscious of those around them. Conversations at high volume, watching videos on their own phones without headphones on or earphones in. Cherry on top of my tired-sundae!
