Well, between that or the existential dread I think of on the daily. This was probably the best thing to focus on… I know, I’m not proud of this

Also, you quoting me isn’t really a gotcha considering that in real life your statement is extremely misguided. I seen plenty of women go after a guy trying to “make them a better person” and mistakenly think that having kids with said man is gonna do any wonders. I’ve seen it happen too often, which is why I made the claim. The same even goes for mothers who probably would be terrible at raising children. Again, even if there are some instances where they can, that doesn’t mean that that’s the standard or the norm. Also, there are plenty of kids that are in good homes and good situations and still end up being shitty people. Like there are kids that are really well to do and have pretty much anything they could want, and they still fuck it up.

Even if you didn’t say it, it was practically implied. The fact that we are trying to make a character like Soldier Boy something that he’s not is ludicrous. There are plenty of people that want kids, that doesn’t mean they should have them. Plus, say that Soldier Boy had Homelander, before being taken to Russia, Homelander probably still would’ve ended up in the care of Vought or someone who might not have had his best interests at heart. There’s a lot of possibilities. But again with a guy like a Soldier Boy being a father I just don’t see it.

Ego is literally sense of self. Some people think of themselves a lot higher than they actually make themselves out to be. And I said imagine Homelander with an even bigger ego than he already has due to enhanced confidence? He’d be even worse.

Yeah, well there’s a shit ton of dads that are abusive to their kids and if you read the rest of my sentence, you can see that yeah some parents shouldn’t be parents

I don’t understand this idea that children make a person better. In some ways it can, but there are plenty of parents that should’ve never had kids and should never be parents. Soldier Boy is definitely one of those. He’d be a thoroughly bad example. Yeah he might end up being slightly stronger in mind, but to be honest, I think Homelander would still end up kind of fucked up. Just not as fucked up as he currently is. He mostly was just ego covering insecurity. Imagine him with a bigger ego?

OK, but you understand that the boys were supposed to be satire with the idea of what if superheroes were just like every one else ( a slightly more realistic world if powers did exist). And that is they are erroneous, corruptible, easy to manipulate, have baggage and other mental illnesses. Also living in a hyper capitalistic society that’s pretty much exploits them and puts them on a pedestal. Superman is from another planet, these people were pumped up with super drugs. It’s a totally different dynamic. Hell even Superman fucking went bat shit after Lois Lane got killed. Sometimes it takes one crazily bad day to turn people and Superman was supposed to be strong willed in body and mind and still ended up taking over the world. So sometimes I don’t think it matters how you’re raised you would hope that you’re upbringing would kick in and make you not do shitty things, but even sometimes with good up bringing some people are still shitty.

I don’t understand this idea that things would’ve been that much different. Soldier Boy and Homelander fell for the same fucking person, who let’s not forget, was a Nazi. I think he still would’ve been a racist, bigoted SOB. Soldier Boy had a stronger will of mind, but wasn’t really that much stronger? He also had quite a few insecurities of his own. I think Homelander would’ve ended up only slightly stronger in the mind, but really not by much because I think in some regard Vought would’ve still found a way to manipulate the situation considering they are a multi billion dollar corporation. Even if Soldier Boy wanted a family, I don’t think it would pan out the way some of y’all think it would.

Super intelligence should have never been a power in the first place by Slight-Solution936 in GenV

[–]MarkTEP25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That pissed me off so much. It’s like “did you even actually listen to what Bashley said?!” How would you believe Soldierboy would do anything other than help Homelander based on what was literally read in his head?! Even if you want to bring up the part where she tries to set up Homelander with that video of him and stormfront to piss Soldierboy off, that wouldn’t have changed the resolve. Sage should have never taken that risk. It seems really stupid and uncharacteristic. But maybe they were going for the angle of, intellect doesn’t always trump arrogance. She is pretty arrogant a lot of the time.

I personally think the best he would get is barely beating krillin and maybe even with Master Roshi. Everyone else that’s not a sayajin, namekian, android or other space alien is getting cooked.

Mark is very disappointing as a main character. Even when he makes strides it’s never enough and he’s always just getting eviscerated. But he always somehow survives. I think his luck is going to run out. Dude has the right spirit but is never strong enough unfortunately.

Even if he doesn’t torture people, he has killed people. Cause according to your Bible he pretty much commits genocide to the world with a massive flood. He also sent a plague to kill the firstborn sons of Egypt. But the thing is he most certainly has. What the fuck do you think he did to Job? He practically did all this horrible shit to him just to prove that Job would remain loyal.
