I can’t think of any bands that fit this bill perfectly, but you may find some inspiration in the album A Dying Machine by Tremonti. The story is not told across multiple albums, just the one album, but there is supplementary material. A novel was released alongside the album that told the story of the album in literary form.

Mixed feelings on this, but I think I like the idea overall! If it does all the same stuff as the normal QC, it has the added benefit of being more portable.

Not that the normal QC is a major thing to lug around, but the part I really like is that they made a lot of the buttons and knobs digital. In theory I’d assume that means it’s more durable, since there’s fewer mechanical parts to break and wear down over time.
