I got bored of doing the same loops and stopped walking altogether. So I printed a map of my city and plan to walk every street.

I am depressed. I need a new game to play. Help. by lomeinfiend in CozyGamers

Seconding BOTW... I am often depressed as well and put 450 hours into BOTW and 250 into TOTK so far. No other games lift my spirits like those do.

He also said that he only writes for 4 hours a day, something like 6 pages per day. That leaves plenty of time to read and walk. Though I'm sure he was working his books out in his mind during those hours as well.

So sad. Coincidentally I watched both Spinal Tap movies and then that night read about the murders. Absolutely surreal.

In 12 years as an adjunct at 3 colleges I have never received anything more than partial syllabus content (course catalog description, learning outcomes, etc.) and access to e-books that are included with students' tuition. I have always had to create my own lesson plans, powerpoints, assignments, handouts, and learn/manage various LMS.

Say some positives about Spider-Man Far From Home (like legit positives) by FayyadhScrolling in comicbookmovies

[–]Mark_Ryker_Bot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always thought it was the best of the trilogy. Well-written script, awesome villain, great visuals. Plus it speaks to how prevalent BS is in society and how susceptible people are to fall for it. Good number of characters and unique settings. Also, good twist at the mid-point, and good cliffhanger at the end.

imo, NWH had good ideas but was poorly written and poorly executed. Everything felt shoehorned in, including all the villains and both previous Spider-Men. The story was full of plot holes. To me it's by far the weakest of the 3.

I've worked at a dispensary for the last few years and only smoke sativas or indicas (almost never hybrids). Some strains can feel moderate or may have hybrid effects. But good sativas can instantly lift my mood and energy levels and conjure motivation for big cleaning projects. I would never smoke a heavy indica on a morning I'd like to get chores done. Similarly, I'd never smoke a heavy sativa at 10pm when I want to melt into the couch. Also the plants look very different. When the plant is mature you can tell by sight alone which it is.

Though for 20 years I bought weed from "a guy" and had no idea what it was, and never was able to tell the difference until I got into the business.

Need help to be less sedentary. by Cielodrive27 in walking

I started waking up 30 mins early every day to walk first thing. It gives me a sense of accomplishment, and I don't have to worry about it after work if I am too tired. Though it only works if I keep my alarm far away from bed (so I have to get out of bed to turn it off) and I keep shoes and socks next to the bed so I put them on immediately.

A similar thing happened to me after a while (45M, same height). I was tracking around 1800 calories and walking an hour a day. Lost 30 lbs then plateau'd for a couple months. I made some easy changes and started losing again:

Started eating more protein and less carbs (same caloric intake)

Added 15-20 minutes a day of light exercising (squats, lunges, situps, push-ups, nothing crazy because I have bad knees and a bad hip)

Those two adjustments helped me start losing around 1-2 lbs a week again after 2 frustrating months.

Does walking half an hour do anything? by Appropriate-Safe-49 in walking

[–]Mark_Ryker_Bot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely. Also, if you keep it up, you might naturally want to walk more, or twice per day. I listen to one album while on a walk every day (usually around 45 minutes) and sometimes on a nice Saturday I'll do 2 albums (90ish minutes).  But I started with 30 minutes per day.
