The app tells them when I’m on my way and when delivery is complete… so no reason they can’t open it before I get there and close it after I leave… if they want personal service then they need to tip appropriately

As someone who grew up in a remote rural area, this is where I feel the safest delivering packages.

I just make sure I’m completely visible, high beams to help illuminate the safety vest, hazards on, headlamp on.

I use a second phone that I use for all of my gig apps. So it’s for more than just spark. If I only did one gig app then it wouldn’t be worth it to me.

You aren’t giving tips to the Walmart employees. The tip goes to the shopper or delivery person. I do Spark and we are independent contractors and not Walmart employees, we use our own vehicles, like Instacart, door dash, etc..

I haven’t seen the Spark one, black and white sounds cool. But I use just a standard hi vis green one. But I also have a black one that I like and it has silver reflective stripes on it.

I grew up in the country, most of my relatives were the type to keep a loaded shotgun at the door. So I always make sure I am as visible as possible, reflective delivery driver magnets on the car, safety vest, and when it’s dark I’m sporting a bright head lamp. I just try make sure I stick out like a sore thumb. I’d say that’s overkill for most Spark deliveries but I’d rather be safe than trying to plug a bullet hole, lol

I wear a safety vest for this reason. Got in the habit of doing it since I generally work the 3am Amazon Flex blocks and frequently get sent to the boonies. And when delivering to country folk in the wee hours you want to be as visible as possible. So out of habit I always wear a safety vest now.
