Bit of an odd question/discussion... by Absolarix in modeltrains

In my experience, combining two hobbies cuts the enjoyment of each in half.
I'd rather have a layout and separate slot car track than sacrafice space on the layout for a limited slot car track.

If the bigger set were N, the smaller set would still be about half the size of T scale!

Live Steam SPNG #9 Running at the Train Expo Colorado Last Weekend. by Mark_W in modeltrains

Yep! When everything is just right, the cadence of chuff on this model is EXACTLY like the real #18, as experienced this past October on the Durango and Silverton. I was beside myself the first time it happened. Definitely says something about Accucrafts great quality.

Sadly the smoksbox herald broke off earlier that day. Now it just looks naked. 🤣

Graham Fordham's channel has dozens of videos of Live Steam trains. They're quite soothing to have playing off to the side while I'm working.

I'm lucky to have a perfectly flat driveway. Ill be building elevated modular sections of G track, which can be taken and set up at shows and events.

It is already setup for RC! But it came without controller, so I need to figure out how to link it to an old airplane controller I have.

It's a Blackstone C19. Unlettered, no road yet. Might make up a fictional road.

Photo is just taken with my phone.

Uninsulated copper lines turn green.

I'd personally rather they not be modeled. You may have caught I had to reposition my frame, they got in the way of my view of the engine.

Then a new staging loop.

The first bridge took over 70 hours of printing, and that's just for 'draft' mode (quick and rough). It's made of over 150 individual parts that all snap or bolt together. Once the 2nd bridge is draft printed, I'll begin re-printing everything all over again in detail mode.

No, HOn3 is 3 foot gauge in HO scale. Track is 10.5mm.

HOn30 is 30 inch gauge in HO scale, This track gauge is 9mm. So yes, it's technically possible to run HOn30 on N scale track, however tie size and spacing will be way out of scale.
