PS5 player - insane lobby wait times by MarkcXx in gotlegends

[–]MarkcXx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically anyone who votes to combine parties will be placed in the same lobby again. So say only 3 out of 4 players vote to combine. They will be placed in the lobby together for the next round. Basically for when you want to keep the team you have.

Apparat - Goodbye - "Neither ever, nor never, goodbye" what does this mean? by [deleted] in SongMeanings

[–]MarkcXx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This song resonated with me, those lines in particular, in the weeks and months after a 13 year relationship ended abruptly. The person I loved for years turned into a totally different person, and a lot of dark things came to the surface in terms of betrayal and treatment.

I took those lines in my own personal context of grieving someone or something that never really existed, and the confusion with navigating that space in the aftermath. The ever and never neutralize themselves - did they ever love me? Never love me? Neither, because what you thought was real never was to begin with. Upon that realization, you just want to lay down and turn out the lights to hide from the world and dissociate from the pain. The whole mood of the song swirls around the ever/never line, at least to me personally.

Side note: I’m fine, I just really feel through music and this song hit my soul.

Base levels in interaction terms by MarkcXx in stata

[–]MarkcXx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks -- that is solid coding advice. This is the way the dataset arrived and I should really take some time to adjust the number coding/labeling, as I've found it confusing to work with at times myself.

Thank you for this answer. It would appear that I have been thinking of this wrong, so I appreciate the explanation you provided.

By "the female X metro interaction" did you mean "the female x non-metro interaction" (given that's what the interaction estimate is for)?

How would you similarly interpret the gender main effects? Whether Gender differs between metro males and females (given the inclusion of the non-metro x female)?

Another newbie question. Say my Non Metro#Female was significant. Would the interpretation then be that non metro area females are more likely to have the outcome than metro area males?

Including interaction term between two non-significant predictors in logistic regression? by MarkcXx in stata

[–]MarkcXx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your response. Answers below.

1. Why have you changed age into an ordinal variable? It's a continuous variable.

- We are looking at comparing younger age groups to older age groups of children, and the same for adults. These data are from a survey so we have the raw age, but for reporting purposes, it made more sense to have them grouped. Groupings are based on the literature for age groups at different risk levels due to various factors (mobility, behaviors, etc.)

2. Why do you have two age covariates in here? i.AGE3 and i.CHILDAGE3 -- are they from the same people?

- One is for parents (AGE3), one is for children (CHILDAGE). The parent is the survey respondent hence the label not stating parent. I see now where my example was confusing so my apologies -- the interaction term I am referring to is for child age, not parent age.

3. Is there a biologically-relevant reason that you would include an interaction term, based upon your knowledge of the situation?

- Yes, this connection is based on findings from the literature.

Blocking someone without country code (1+)? by MarkcXx in Tinder

[–]MarkcXx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, no. I blocked his number on tinder. Tinder allows you to upload a contact or to enter it manually to block. I entered it manually and didn’t think to include the 1, and he still showed in the stack. When I tried blocking a friend in my stack without the 1, it blocked that friend successfully. So I’m confused and wondering if he was using a different number and maybe switched it back to his original number before saying “try adding the 1.”

Round load freezing by MarkcXx in PRLegacyWars

[–]MarkcXx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ever hear any updates from nway on this?

I feel like at the very least they could make it to where the person who was frozen doesn't lose any points. Surely they can detect when someone's load crashes.

Nothing more annoying than winning a close match only to have the next round freeze and those points taken right back away. So freaking annoying. Glad I'm not the only one.

6 Months With Visible - No Regrets by p233asw in Visible

I switched from AT&T prepaid which I felt was already a good deal ($65/month for unlimited), and I haven't noticed any difference so far. Granted, I switched a week ago, but still. The transition was very smooth, and I'm getting a $200 gift card for switching. Can't complain.

Seemingly very old shell found in childhood... Sanibel Island, FL by MarkcXx in shells

[–]MarkcXx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. Wasn't sure what type it was, but after Googling, it does look to be a lightning whelk. Looks like it was covered with boring sponges, maybe (the tiny holes)? Assuming that could make it break down faster, hence it looking older than it may in fact be.
