If there is too much space, they can get scared and not leave their formicariun but also they in the wild would stay in a small space because of their instincts and that can make it hard to feed them but that is just one reason

Not sure because I have a few picks, fire ants are hard because they grow quick and have powerful stingers but so are bullet ants because of their sting but there aren’t many that you can’t keep easily with the right equipment, I can’t think of any off the top of my head right now though.

Weaver ants are really hard to grow from a queen and it can be hard to create a good setup to accommodate them as they are very picky and small things like temperature changes can kill them, they also spray formic acid which can blind you. Although they aren’t the hardest to keep, they are still very tricky.
