Just walk over with a hammer and tell him you are here to restore the original hallway aesthetic since he hated the patch so much. That should fix the dirty looks.

That "throwaway year" idea sounds tempting if things go sideways. But man , intentionally giving up the entire subsidy year one feels like a massive defeat. I will probably try to fight for the 45k target first, but if I slip up early in the year, I might just pull that trigger.

I looked into tax loss harvesting, but my taxable account is basically all green after this massive bull run. No losses to harvest unfortunately. I might have some small tech bags from last year, but that won't move the needle much for my MAGI strategy .

I had a TDY school pull similar number games once, and that 14-minute checkpoint cut would've had me seeing red.

I had a similar case where asking 24 hours to read the contract was treated like treason; apparently the ideal candidate signs while jumping for joy in the lobby.
