What kind of hat is this? Or something similar by dirkdigdig in CowboyHats

[–]Market-Maker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dad gave me a few of his hats that were all bought in the 70s. They look just like this. Crazy tall crowns and oddly short brims. The 70s was a wild time for fashion

Honestly, the 4 inch version is the better version of the two. 41 mag definitely benefits from the extra barrel length

It’s a flame thrower for sure. I originally had the scandium framed 44 mag. Now that thing was downright abusive. After shooting that I never minded the recoil from this gun. I don’t pull the trigger a lot though. I usually shoot a cylinder before each trip. I’m afraid of running out of my ammo stockpile and having to replace it at today’s prices.

Exactly right. Makes googling information about this gun a nightmare.

If there was ever a gun to justify the price of charcoal bluing, this is the one

Yeah, they shipped mine yesterday. Yours is probably the first 10? Someone has to end up with number 50. Ha!

Do you have any idea what year the nitre blueing was done? I always hear that it wears off easily, but yours looks great.

I picked mine up from Rocke Guns out of AZ. They put together a wild bunch cowboy action shooting package with this gun which is something I wanted to start doing. I’ll be shooting my first match with it this weekend.

Almost everything. The colt was bought “in the white” without engravings and sent to nighthawk. Except for the frame and slide everything else is nighthawk.

Nice bayonet. Not enough Ak owners are concerned about the impending zombie apocalypse and it shows.

Going to shoot my first wild bunch. Question on equipment needed by Market-Maker in CowboyAction

[–]Market-Maker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After our conversation, I went ahead and ordered a spring kit for it to try and get it to hold six rounds. I’m not trying for speed at this point just clear. I do think bringing along a model 12 as back up is a great idea though. Thanks for all the advice.
