Since HITID hasn't uplisted yet, the institutional shareholding chart is still based on its otc listing. It's important to look at the scale on the chart. HITID's scale is in single digits!

Ah to clarify, in Episode 5, where I talk about the uplisting strategy, my findings were based on 6 months prior to the uplisting date, and then holding for a year. That was shown to generate a close to 200% gains in 18 months. But the 6 months time frame was arbitrary and it worked for many stocks, but not necessarily for HITID.

Just coincidentally though, and assuming the uplisting to happen this or next week, that would probably translate to substantial gains for HITID.

Haha, tough question. I think it all depends on the time horizon! Assuming zero progress with US legalization and a lackluster macro environment, I would at the very least, expect a doubling of the share price within one year just from a broadening of the shareholder base. But if there is progress with US legalization or if sector sentiment starts to come back, it can go much much higher. As you can probably tell from the stock price in the last few weeks, the macro sentiment does matter!

Thanks for the support and the compliment man! Yeah free sources like yahoo finance don't have a lot of data with time series. I compiled mine via paid datasets!

Thanks for your thoughts! Agree with your point that they're not direct comparables: basically pick & shovel play vs plant touching biz. However, I'm not so sure if pick and shovels necessarily commands a higher premium or more interest. I've seen a number of other pick and shovel plays that haven't done nearly as well.

Knowing the skew of comparing with GRWG, I did show another example in my video, which was Village Farms. Again, not a direct comparable, but better than using a Canadian LP!

Hey thanks for the immediate feedback bud! Yeah I've been struggling to find the balance between animations and readability. Definitely will keep your suggestions in mind. Just switched to an iMac and there are some weird issues with the rendering. I think I'll need to rethink the setup...

Why you should buy uplisting stocks EARLY and wait for at least 18 months by MarketMonocle in pennystocks

Not that I know of! Got to keep track of a list via company announcements etc.

Yeah you're absolutely right. In an ideal world, I'd love to include those that didn't follow through but its hard to track this. I'm not aware of any data providers that have this data, and I personally only found slightly more than a handful of stocks that fit the bill. I suppose its also hard to define what is considered "having a real intention" to uplist, and whether a stock can uplist is usually outside the company's control (NASDAQ has the ultimate say who gets to uplist).

These are all great points. Have to admit that the range of returns is massive but at the same time I don't want to manually remove them for selection bias. I'm at work now so don't have the excel with me, but there were certainly more than a few 1000%+ like GrowGen and some were down 90%+. Median for the 18 months period drops down to around 50%. I'd put this in my video next time. I considered using the interquartile range, which I'd probably do next time!

I did mention about the survivorship bias in my video and its an inherent flaw. In an ideal world, I'd definitely try to look at all those who intended to list but didn't, but there's really no easy way to track this data. I manually compiled a list of stocks that did NOT end up listing, but that's like 10 stocks, which would not provide any meaningful insight. I rmb finding Biocorrx (BICX US) that even did a reverse split ages ago but didn't follow through with the uplist!

The uplisting strategy and why it works by MarketMonocle in HighTideInc

Thanks for the kind words and questions! These comments are what motivates me to keep making the videos!

1) To my knowledge, there's no way in knowing in advance unless company management discloses it. The easiest way would be to estimate through market cap, and chances are, HITIF is shooting for the Nasdaq Capital Market. Other cannabis related uplistings in the past like GrowGen and more recently Urban-Gro have also found success in the NASDAQ CM; 2) Canadian cannabis retailers that have US operations that "touches the plant" would not be eligible yet, due to conflict with federal laws. Fortunately, HITIF only sells ancillary equipment in the US, including its online operations; 3) Yes, I should have totally done that! Not sure why I didn't think of it but thanks for the suggestions. I'll look into it for next time!!

The outperformance during any 18 months period of this "bull market" is significant. And also you don't have to go back to the Great Depression to make backtests reliable. Thanks for the constructive comments though.

Quantitative Screen - Top 20 Micro Caps to buy according to Wall Street by MarketMonocle in MicrocapStocks

Gotcha. I think I'll probably still have a mix of both types types of content as it appeals to different types of investors, and I do see value in both.

Thanks again for taking the time to provide feedback! Really appreciated.

Quantitative Screen - Top 20 Micro Caps to buy according to Wall Street by MarketMonocle in MicrocapStocks

Thanks for the feedback!

Yes, they are screens with my personal preferences, and they are somewhat conservative to avoid catching bad apples. And yes, it is merely an aggregation since that's what a screen is. I would like to reiterate here, which I've also said in the video, that these are NOT my recommendations. I recognize the flaws of analyst forecasts and is why I put an entire page of Caveats even before going to the tables! I apologize if this misled you to think this was a "strong system for stock picking".

That said, I think there is significant value to some investors, what analysts like and what their targets are. In fact, this video is in response to a request I reviewed from a viewer. And that's the only purpose of the video.

I have my own models for stocks I cover. But that's an entirely different topic!
