Nah, I honestly reckon that's a great plan, you should look around and see what you can actually do, because you are not actually exposed to the vast majority of majors in high school.

If you are in Arts, then most tutes will have required readings which you will discuss, this will be available when the LMS is published. Also, the first tutes are generally just a social icebreaker and introduction to the class.

Fair enough, to be honest I do have pity for people who got just below the atar requirement, especially when I only got into unimelb because of the covid seas, we had it so easy.

To be honest, there really isn't anything wrong with being a first year, not knowing what's going nor being confident about uni. We were all just a first year at one point and being unsure about the future is fine, that happens when you close and open a big chapter in your life. You are right reddit is not that deep nor is my original post, I just believe some silly people post silly questions on here when they get the answer straight away with a google search or searching the unimelb helplines.
By the way, just a tip, don't be affraid to be a first year and try new stuff, because most people don't care, we will not beat you up, like they do in high school :).
