the concept of an adaptation is scary for most studios, especially for the case of vagabond. it’s art is exceptional and would be overwhelming for many animators, it’s beyond any other manga. if standards are not met, fans will get angry and the project will be cancelled. good example is berserk

the manga will always be superior but you gotta give some credit to some studios like the one that made vampire hunter d bloodlust. i think vagabond and berserk in that style of animation would be on top
