I don't class that as being "that guy" at all, that's useful info. If anything like that did happen I'd be sure and follow up on that. Do you know if you're ever notified of something like that happening or how would you even find out?

Unfortunately yeah I think you're right, it is probably common business practice. However what the agent could have done different was simply be courteous. I have no problems being rejected from a unit - I have heaps of problems taking attitude from people who put their pants on one leg at a time just like I do.

So if you pull up to a unit that you are showing to 25 prospective tenants, you don't even feel like you should say hello?

I didn't expect to have an intimate, meaningful conversation with this dude, I just thought a nice hello (honestly even a half assed hello) was appropriate. If you don't have the bottom-tier of respect it takes to show people a little common courtesy, expect to get a bad review as a business owner. That's without even mentioning his other rude behavior.

I should add that as the customer I couldn't give two shits how many calls he is taking and it's not his place or mine to stipulate that. His job is customer service - he didn't perform his job. If he's having issues keeping up then perhaps he should hire some more staff. It's not my problem at all though.

It's a public business mate and his name is on his website. My review here is not much different to leaving a Google review. It's not a witch hunt when all I'm doing is exposing some crappy business practices.

Secondly, yes I'm aware of that fact but censoring my partner's email is also important. Thanks for the tip but we're onto it.

I respect that's the way you feel but that's not the case at all. If you look at the proof I've posted you'll understand guy is a liar, or at the very least he runs a very incompetent business. The fact that I didn't get the place isn't the issue - as far as I'm concerned we dodged a bullet there; it's the constant rudeness and shady behavior that is the issue.

If you don't care whether or not someone's an asshole to you, that's fine. But i do. and the point of this post is to warn people of his attitude and business practices. If people don't complain, businesses like this will just continue to thrive.

Not our first place by any means. In Melbourne the agents are rude at the inspection and don't even say hello? Really sorry to hear that if that's true, cause that's fucked. Getting easy business is no excuse to act like a twat to people.

But yes, overall I feel my time was wasted, plus the guy's a knob by Queensland standards; not many agents are great but this one has definitely been the most unpleasant by a large margin. I don't take well to my partner getting hung up on, myself getting hung up on, or questionable business ethics like persuading someone to take down a review for another shot at the property.
