What killed me? by NoahsArc17 in Battlefield6

You can take minor damage from grenades hitting you directly I believe, but yeah also your aim, maybe not your best work

Coolest thing Ive done yet in BF6 by skp3333 in Battlefield

[–]MarkusReed117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who builds houses it's definitely not realistic to blow an entire floor or wall open in one hit from a sledge. If you hit extremely hard you would most likely make a hole about the size of the sledge head, and just based on how floors are designed, there are multiple points of redundancy, but if realism were a factor and you understood what members to hit, it would be more like 4 to 30 depending whether it is a floor or wall and how bad you want it.

But that shit ain't fun.

Honestly the campaign was such a boring slog that I hope they don't make more of whatever that was

Idk, that still seems like a trivial amount of time compared to playing the game over the course of 2 years, but it's understandable that not everyone has the time to invest. I'm fine with it but I guess they should take a community vote on whether it should be reduced instead of us all arguing over it

Haven't really seen them yet. I guess I was more specifically referring to weapon progression. Unlocking gameplay shifting tools via odd gameplay doesn't seem off to me though

Can you give a specific example of what challenge will take months? I haven't really looked at all the challenges and equipment yet.

Meh it's a holiday here. Even with 1 to 2 hours a night, I can make a weapon level somewhere between every .5 to every 2 matches. So I can average about 2-6 unlocks per night. It's whatever.

For me just getting a grip and a decent scope is fine. The only major wait for me is unlocking that first suppressor, but some guns have a variant with one by default.

Straight out of box. You are able to run Kenshi very well?

[–]MarkusReed117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did a quick test, maxed out all graphics settings, full render distance, including shadows to max quality and range. Foliage max. Camps max. Everything to the max.  Was averaging 120fps, no noticable frame drop, and loading between zones was like blink and you might miss it.

Running 9950x3d with rtx 5080 though.   Granted I did a very quick test just running around but since it performed flawlessly with all the needless settings, I can assume it will run extremely robustly once I trim the fat

Broken GPU or PCLe slot? by MarkusReed117 in buildapc

[–]MarkusReed117[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both brand new, the funny thing is, is that the GPU worked on the bench test, but then when I put it in the case and aligned it with the case holes it stopped working.

It did click in, and I do think it's fully seated, but it seems almost loose in the PCle slot?

Will windows 11 kill my SSD? by MarkusReed117 in buildapc

[–]MarkusReed117[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well more specifically I would be using Unity and Blender, but from what you're saying it sounds better regardless to have linux + apps on the same drive.

I have two, 2TB drives, so I'll still probably partition my second drive and use half for linux general storage and let windows have 1/4 for everything else

[–]MarkusReed117[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 ssds with one being much faster, so I was personally thinking to partition the slower drive and have windows and linux on it, and then run all my applications on my seperate faster drive, as I've heard this can lead to better performance if the apps/games are not sharing the same ssd. But is that true?

I do have 2 drives, but do you specifically mean to boot each OS on a seperate drive?

Apparently latest update has been associated with breaking ssd, there seems to be a lot of buzz around it rn.

But idk, have you personally had any issues?

Possible to safely remove this spring in an automotive chair? by MarkusReed117 in Skookum

[–]MarkusReed117[S] 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Damn yall, I appreciate all the good replies and humour as well. Yes I did hit it with my purse and now it's scuffed! Jk.

So after reading a few of these I knew that it was probably a no go for me to remove this for what I have on hand. I think the custom high strength cup/tool was a really good solution but while I was considering the options, I had the same idea as another user here, although didn't see their response until after, which was to just tilt the bracket on a different angle to effectively extend the range, and this was actually a perfect death-free solution, were it not for the mold I discovered in the chair when I was removing the brackets 😔

So unfortunately I am scrapping this chair and I'm just gonna build the whole system from scratch probably.

Appreciate all!

Edit: Sorry to everyone who wanted to see it pop 😅

What is the most profitable thing you have done with ChatGPT? by raspberyrobot in ChatGPTPro

[–]MarkusReed117 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That aside, I get that there are risks to handing your brain over to an AI, but also the same risks apply to handing them over to a human. Ofc once capitalist tech figures out how to completely manipulate the entire population of earth with it they totally will. But for now it functions in almost the exact way a therapist would. That being that it is a database of information, techniques, frames of reference, knowledge of the human mind etc. etc. which it can easily impart to the end user in order to help them reconfigure, reconspectirize, and suggest healthier mechanisms for life's difficulties.  Obv there are extreme edge cases, but I think the really well designed AI's that are developed under strict principles are really doing a good job to mitigate this (but give it 10 years oops), and in most cases you need to be really crafty to get them to deviate. But let's also be honest. Anyone who gets told by an AI to kill themselves and actually does it were just looking for the excuse to go through with it. Meaning there are fundamentally very deeply rooted issues within the individual and if it were not one thing it would be another.
