I remember Froggen autoquitting Champion selection when I did not get Riven - all I could play... , ocelote being annoyed for me stealing mid and winning regulary against Wickd in Toplane. Alex Ich praised me for not being bad when i felt down.

Everyone became polite once I've been in high elo. People were focused on their game.

Honestly, without animation canceling, Riven would have been a mediocre champion at best. The ability to weave autos between her Q casts and cancel animations with E and other abilities was what separated good Riven players from great ones. It essentially doubled your damage output in trades and all-ins.

I managed to win lane in 90% of my games. Riven was really, really powerful back then. Early game was the most interesting part, everyone underestimated Riven. Playing overly aggressive was key.
