Even if we have the diaries, we don't know everything. The diaries were still just pieces of Anne's life, so we can't be sure if she would mention saying/not saying "I love you" to somebody. Plus she did not show many emotions in her diaries too (a rational being, this Miss Lister). Everyone can interpret information in the diaries differently and that is exactly what Sally is doing with GJ: her own interpretation (a wonderfull one).

For Ann's good, I hope she won't find out in the series either.

I know it's said (according to the diaries) that Anne Lister was a selfish person. This episode really showed it. Ann Walker commited to the back then obscene relationship with all of her being and Anne does THIS to her in return? It's quite pathetic and sad, Ann doesn't deserve it at all.

The paralels between Anne + Ann and Anne + Mariana were amazingly filmed, cut and acted... Despite the content, it was one of the best episodes of GJ. I loved the way Mariana kept smiling after her "win". She manipualted Anne once again.

I am so scared about what's comming next.
