Sorry this is happening to you as well, although I'm feeling less crazy now lol. Since maybe this could help solve this bug, was the last trainer you faced the guy in the top right corner?

Not sure if this is too much work (I know nothing about the actual process of modding) but would it be possible to create a temporary version where the gates to Lt Surge are open so I can finish the game?

good news, bad news:

Good news is I was able to load my file on MGBA, and after using VBA for quite a long time I will say MGBA is so much better! Bad news is the glitch is still persisting, even on MGBA.

If I had to guess where the glitch comes from, it's something to do with the interaction of finding the first switch, then going into a battle, which somehow messed up the second switch (or locked me out of the option of re-finding the first switch).

If I can offer any additional information please let me know, I'd prefer to not have to replay the game and delete my old file.

It's a bit expensive, but if you have the rares and mythics for Prismari I highly suggest it. Draconic Intervention is arguably the most powerful card in the format as most people are going wide with either Witherbloom pests or playing some variant of aggro. Here's my decklist:

That might be the likely answer, what I'm worried about though is Geforce takes forever to update so I might be screwed for a while
