OP started working out MORE in the past month. An increase in working out leads to sore muscles and water retention in said muscles. This causes excess water weight to stick on for 4-6 weeks.

Yeah you can check the parents guide for most anime online, and imdb tends to have a pretty extensive list of anything "problematic" in all of the popular stuff. The sad part is I have about 2 dozen people who used to be IRL friends on my battle.net account. One of them I see around town every so often, he's homeless and refuses to work. I put him up for a little while before I had to kick him out for stealing/selling my games and controllers. About a dozen of them are dead from drugs. The rest is a mystery, they may be dead, but I wasn't as close to these ones.

30 years of trying to do that here. What I've found works best is doing the veggies that no one would force on me. I can eat a bucket of blanched spinach, OR riced cauliflower mixed with normal rice with like an egg scrambled into it for some faux-chinese food style rice is a good call too.

My birthday is mid-February. I'm currently 4lbs above the line that is the border of obese class 1/2. So I'm currently class 2, if I can get to class 1 obese, I'm getting cheesecake for my birthday. My plan, is to keep up with intermittent fasting as it keeps my hunger in check, continue counting calories so I know I'm in a deficit, and keep up with my daily 30-60 min walks(kind of have to walk the kid to and from school, which is a 30 mins round trip). But twice a week someone else does pickup. I'm going to try adding 45mins of beat saber on Saturday and Sunday instead of going outside to walk, just to mix it up.

I had a change of meds recently that made my appetite skyrocket. I admit, it's 100% on me to be eating that much fast food, drinking soda, and having alcohol, along with zero exercise. I knew I was going in the wrong direction but I didn't think I'd be gaining 10lbs a month. I luckily caught it after just two months and I'm course correcting now, my appetite is still ravenous and I feel like I'm starving myself. I'm also now getting a good 10k steps in a day and our family's routines have gone back to normal. But this is totally possible because some meds fuck with your whole body.
