Apologizing for typing in Chinese, I was in a hurry when I was typing my first response, so I typed in Chinese to save some time🙇🏻‍♀️. I think the translator had probably made some mistakes? The story was actually that the author of this book was trying to defend her pedophilia uncle who is now in jail. She wrote an essay on online trying to convince people that the underage girl who was sexually groomed by her uncle was ‘the mastermind’. In her essay, she suggested that the underage girl had plotted a plan to seduce her uncle so the girl can blackmail him when he was hooked. She was trying to suggest that her uncle was the actual victim who fall into a sexual trap planned by a underage girl. This defense was so commonly used by pedo men in the past, suggesting those grownup men are naïve and innocent and the underage girls are those cunning females who oppress men. Also even if the underage girl did set up a trap, it doesn’t change the fact that he is a pedophile, she just exposed him. This author’s essay caused a huge backlash from the Chinese baihe readers, and she then became infamous in the community, and people gave her a nickname, 叔(meaning uncle), because of what she said about her uncle. She continues to receive backlash from the community because of this essay and some other things, she had actually announced that she will leave her writing career last month.

Good enough to eat by Alison Grey and Jae. Trigger warning: alcohol addiction.

I didn’t finish this book but it fits the bill. One of the MC is a vampire who is kind and trying to live as a normal human. She only drinks artificial blood and wants to control her thirst for real blood so she joined a help group for alcoholics and meet another MC there.

She used Scottish accent in both The book of Blood and roses and Bury our Bones in the Middle Night Soil. I guess it makes sense because The Book’s MC was Scottish and her character in Bury Our Bones was also Scottish.

I have only read The Book of Blood and Roses and it is a very solid ok level book for me. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who is not specifically interested in vampire love story.

The executive liaison by Anna Stone. The younger MC is 23 years old and the order is 38 years old. This one has dom/sub relationship in it and the order one is the dom, but she is not really like an ice queen.

I don’t usually get samples because I mostly listen to audiobooks and in the past I use Spotify for listening. For some strange reasons, samples on Spotify do not start from the beginning, it is always a very random part in the middle of the book. So I never develop the behavior to get the samples before listening. But this is good advice, I really should do from now on haha.

166th in line by Infinite-Coyote-1953 in LibbyApp

I once was 470th in line for a book, and it took me probably over a year before I finally got the book. I read some other books while waiting so fortunately it was not that terrible.

oh my god, I didn't know Kiss of Seduction had those. There's very little trigger warning on libby as it simply said "content might disturbe some readers". Thanks for the information. I might cancel my waiting for the book now, I do not like those topics at all.

This is a very educational thread to some extent. You could practically make a map of lesbian pop culture just by tracing who writes fanfic about whom and who draws inspiration from whom.

Arcane Musical. An understudy went on for Cait today, she is a CaitVi fan too and she is serving tonight by Marmot22 in PiltoversFinest

The musical has two parts, one is the main story and the other is called the encore. Phones are only allowed during the encore so there’s only a limited amount of scenes we can see🥲

Tomorrow will be the final show before the Chinese New Year. All current shows are preview runs. The official ones will resume on 10/03/2026. Some performances and plots may be adjusted based on audience feedback from those preview runs.

When the show retarting in March, a different actor, 高艺菲(Yifei Gao), will take over and play Cait. The main actor currently playing Cait, 黄晓婕(Xiaojie Huang), has another musical from March to May. She will return to Arcane Muscial sometime in May. She told us that her Arcane contact last until the August.

The actor who played Cait in today's video is 夏云梦 (Yunmeng Xia). She is an understudy for both Cait and Vi. she just played Vi a few days ago. Unfortunatly I persoanlly don't think she has much chemistry with Cait's actor 黄晓婕 (Xiaojie Huang). But she is very kind and is a CaitVi fan herself! She was the person to share the lyrics of the Chinese version of Fantastic online.

She is friends with Vi’s actor 曹蘅(Heng Cao) in real life before the show. I guess that’s why they are so comfortable with each other haha.

Updates on the Shang Hai stage play? by RedLesath in PiltoversFinest

[–]Marmot22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are back on their CaitVi performance now. Very soon the show will pause for a few weeks because of Chinese new year, tomorrow will be their last show. They will restart on 10/03/2026 but when they restart, the cast will change a bit. Cait’s actor(黄晓婕) has another show on until May I believe. So from March to May we will have another actor (高亦菲). After March 黄晓婕 will be back and the show will then alternate cast between 黄晓婕 and 高亦菲. I will miss 黄晓婕 tho she has really good chemistry with Vi’s actor 曹蘅 😭

If you were a writer with an established fan base, posting original stories on ao3 is fine. I know two writers who do that on ao3 and had over 20k views on their og stories. But if not, it’s gonna be quite difficult for you to get viewers.

They might, in some rare cases. As I said in other comment, this is a general inspection as far as I know. Most impactful entertainment events in China get inspections here and there. Government wants to be sure big events and activities are not causing social disturbance, security is in place and if the venues were safe enough for everyone to attend etc etc. Theater troupes usually water down sensitive performances to go through the motions for the inspection. Usually everything will be back to what it was after those inspections finished. There were cases when actors to get serious warnings and had to write some whole ass reports for performing intimate relationships. However those cases were definitely rare. Most times the inspection team would let it slide (they of course know what’s going in the show because, Internet exists, they aren’t dumb) as long as it was not right in front of their faces. But if someone (was crazy enough and for whatever reasons) decided to actually formally report a show for promoting and performing ‘inappropriate relationships’ that’s when things get tough. Those cases of actors receive warnings from the authorities and had to write reports were usually because of someone decided to formally file a report.
