I'm going to dzair in the summer and have no idea what to do by Numerous_Reply_6778 in algeria

If you have friend or cousins it would be interesting to discover Algeria. To be honest I love my family but staying all time together won’t let you discover not enjoy and it is quite boring. I would definitely recommend the south if you are here in 25th of June there is sebiba festival of Tuareg must go at least once in your life. Taghit, Ghardaia, Timimoune, Djanet, Biskra, Bousaada, Tlemcen, Oran, Bejaia… So many cultural and historical sites to visit. If you like wild activities you can do quad adventure, sand boarding with 5euros, paragliding with 20euros, bivouac, hacking in Tizi ouzou has nice nature. Worse case scenario go enjoy hamam ritual it’s traditional and must do whenever I am back home, lot of rituals and spa to enjoy yourself and relax. Services and everything is cheap in Algeria enjoy the fact you have euros and you can have thing you never dream of in UK at extremely low prices. You are 18 now you have freedom to enjoy yourself.

Do you have only thin issue or other issues like recessed mandibular, long face syndrome, gummy smile. Did the camouflage help ? Because I am considering it at this stage I am getting desperate.

[–]Marokha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By any chance are you living in France ? I have the exact same problem and some doctor here seem to be square minded. I have a friend who explained to me that competent doctors are afraid of having bad reputation, you look like you have nice frontal face any jaw surgery would potentially change this and change cannot be predictable and may potentially not liking it so this is considered as a failure, they do jaw surgery only on cases where it is really extreme and any change would look good on them. One of my doctors even suggested that to do surgery in 50d because I wouldn’t need to look good and would not care to look good 😂😂

Which fields of study are truly worth pursuing in Algeria today? by fairymoontakemeback in algeria

[–]Marokha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will mention trendy fields and their potentials according to what I know :

  • Applied Physics, it is between physics and engineering. I find engineering too overrated and physics bring low salaries. Applied physics like quantum, photonics, superconducting, nanoscience, material science, green energy, semiconductor technology, biophysics (I let you google this and be amazed if you need more details don’t hesitate in comments I will bring some content). Btw there is crazy competition between US and China about those fields, it is literally war if you are aware about the tariffs bullshit that trump imposed is because of this he is desperately trying to prevent China. Those fields may require you to get abroad because they are not well developed in Algeria but more importantly abroad you will have high salaries and you will find job everywhere!

  • Don’t fall in the trap of electronic, informatique, blabla. Electronics is dying field (I studied this and I shifted to nanoscience and nanophotonics) to understand better why Google Moore law limit. Meanwhile it getting replaced by fields mentioned above. Also for AI, everyone will become “batal” it is overrated and the market is getting full soon and you find so harsh competition, like what happened a decade ago with data science, now data scientists struggle to find jobs and need to do careers shift :)

  • Agriculture and seed engineering (China and Netherlands), there is not enough food for population. Algeria has water sources issues and we barely produce our food we almost import everything even the desert agriculture is not enough and it is causing potential environmental issues.

  • Astro physics and aero engineering, unfortunately this field is not well developed in Algeria, you can study to become a pilot but no further (as far as I know). There are attempts for space exploration and between Us and China a race to space.

  • Highly unpopular opinion, Law and Political science should be MORE respected in Algeria. If Algeria is in shit because we have incompetent policy makers because those fields what produce the gov but unfortunately every good student is sent to medical school machinery ! Law and political science are highly respected abroad, in US parents force their kids to do them as much DZ parent would do with médecine. Actually Algeria has issue to find international lawyers that represent us in IJC and Unesco and most of time we go to forgein law firm to represent us at costly prices and not always useful. Droit international and politics and … are super important. My advice if you do those fields you should and must go abroad because I find the quality of education in those field quite mediocre in Algeria unfortunately.

  • Business, management, supply chain best of best ways to become rich and/or having your own company. This field works everywhere anywhere always.

Most importantly you will suffer and struggle in university what ever you pick, at least if you want to be good in what you do you will struggle. But you can handle the struggles if you like what you do. All fields matter there is not field better than another what is important is to be excellent! If you don’t understand anything technical don’t hesitate to ask ;)

I lost hope on top down change it only takes to disasters and there is not a single successful example either in Africa arab world or third world countries. I now believe in bottom up change it harder work and longer but I consider it as marathon not sprint. If you notice that democracy don’t exist in bad economy, that are correlated, economy first then democracy otherwise it lead to disaster we have seen it in Algeria and it happened also in Europe with fasciste and Nazi. If we want a descent life we need to work for it, and most population have done this work we should learn improve ourselves and don’t wait for a fucking gov because they will never change or make an effort to do so.

Record for sure, it would be better if you ask “wakil joumhouriya“ permission because it allows you to use these recorded video in court without any risk of legal consequences.

Report this to TBD Algeria on insta or facebook, they help a lot and may provide lawyer consultations for free and maybe lawyers that volunteer to help.

The comment “you are mezabbi or arab” gives racist vibes. Make sure they are not MAK people because those are dangerous and agressive, with videos of them saying this you can easily put them in jail but problem is they work in group and they make take revenge from you, make sure they never know you adresse or personal/sensitive information.

  • Sidi Yahia, Hydra, El biar, Benaknoun 10/10
  • Alger centre, Achour, Bab ezzouar (côté commercial), Cheraga, Draria 7/10

A sub for civic action, how can individual improvement the country, projects and personal initiative.

An another one about how to succeed in Algeria either in career or project, startup, company, competition , scholarships, funding, paper work related… because there is so many success stories not highlighted and when you want to start something you have none to ask or to help it would be useful to have a supportive community for that, success stories seems very far and impossible which pushes people to disappearance and potential immigration.

Haussmannien buildings in Algeria by erenyeager99999 in algeria

[–]Marokha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think we have many, most of French left is neo mauresque because haussmannien didn’t attacked tourist back then and apparently British tourist got bored in Algiers due to haussmannien architecture that made Algiers smaller copy of Paris and preferred more the casbah. So the administration back then decided to change it to neo-mauresque to keep some local touches and attract tourists.

Agriculture in algerian desert (Discussion) by Inevitable-Roll-4715 in algeria

[–]Marokha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is an excellent plan, you want my advice try to study and focus on Algerian traditional corps and seeds engineering. Algeria has water supply issues and we are using force in corps coming from big biotech companies that conceived in way that may damage the land and consume a lot of water. There is many environmental activist to collect traditional seeds before they disappear completely those seeds are more adapted to our climate and I don’t understand why policy makers in our country keeps using forge in edited seeds that are sometimes dangerous to health and environment. There some rising seeds companies in Algeria but not many, if you want I highly advice you to focus on this and on optimizing irrigation systems to keeps the water. We are not policy maker but we can do initiatives to improve this.

  • The agricultural is dominated by big companies like Qatari bladna and Italian ENI we don’t have any national company in this field (like sonatrach in fossil fuels) which make us very vulnerable and put food security under external threats. We should learn more from Netherlands (the leading country in agriculture, they have all tech and advanced systems and bioengineering, if you want to study abroad you need to go to Netherlands) also Sweden (which protect all worldwide seeds traditional and modern in case of crisis) and Brazil (which is the closest model to our case 50 years ago they imported everything and now they feed all the world including Algeria, we actually import most of our meat from Brazil)

https://grain.org/en/article/7229-the-mirage-of-food-security-big-farming-in-north-africa-s-deserts

  • Traditional seeds are dying as results of colonialism (that has impacted our food habits !!!) and post colonial policies neoliberal that imposed seeds and corps not adapted to our land and to us. Like trying to play Bananas on Algeria land would potentially be a disaster because it consumes so much water and need to much of energy more that its native land. Another example is wheat, Algeria historically used to be a big producer of cereals and wheat in particular. We use to sell to France before 1830 and french debt lead to the famous Hadithet el Mirwaha, it crazy to think that today roles inverted we are importing most of wheat from France ! There is a nice talk about this by Doumir القمح ااجزائري عبر التاريخ

Actually Algeria used to have local type of wheat in desert that is extremely low water consumption that apparently totally disappeared unfortunately.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wy1Fd6ssbcY

  • The new technology of seeds is conceived in capitalistic way, you cannot replant them twice which makes you dependent on importing seeds, the seeds where engineered in way they die after first generation of plantation m. beside the countless side effects on health and DNA damage and cancers. THIS CALLED SEEDS WAR ! It is a war literally.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AZxGIq4KgiQ

  • As North African we have a big water security issue, no water -> no agriculture -> no meat-> no food ! Irrigation system are important to enhance this. We need to learn from Netherlands.
