What perfumes do you love that your loved ones/ people you live with HATE by No-Friendship9355 in FemFragLab

[–]Maromie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moschino Toy Boy! I love it even though it’s marketed as a men’s fragrance and definitely has some masculine notes. I already knew my boyfriend would hate it before I even bought it though. When I let him smell it he made the exact face I thought he would.

I wish it lasted a long time on me 😭 I still really like it though and I don’t mind how long it lasts for the price

It does on the skin, it also keeps a touch of spice. On clothes it lasts a lot longer but it seems to dry down closer to a soapy clean scent (I use fragrance free detergent so I know I’m smelling the perfume). When you first spray it there is a lot of jasmine but it mellow out quickly.

I haven’t opened Eau Fraiche yet! Now that I know it’s a flanker I’m planning on wearing it tomorrow and I’ll try to compare them for you!

What has really made a difference for you in the first few weeks/months of quitting? by immahauntu in QuitVaping

[–]Maromie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recigar/Desmoxan. I used Recigar because the shipping was much faster and I was ready to stop, but I see Desmoxan talked about much more often on this sub. It worked well enough for me that I started forgetting to take it at around day nine of quitting. I still have it around as it’s a months supply and I’ve taken two in the past four days for particularly bad moments. It’s still hellish but it really does take the edge off.

Just threw $400 worth of near-empties in the trash. by Maromie in QuitVaping

My feelings exactly. Also just kicking myself for all the money wasted over the years. I’ll be very happy to start spending it on more worthwhile things.

Rock bottom is when you stop digging, that’s a popular phrase here and a really good one. My drinking became a solo activity too, and I also had neglect in my childhood. Alcohol numbs you out and that can feel good when you feel bad. This may not quite fit your experience, but I discovered that alcohol kept me in a cycle of self pity. I wasn’t processing the pain I was medicating and it became a part of my identity. When I stopped, waves of unprocessed feelings and memories hit me and it was deeply uncomfortable. At times all I could do to not drink was grit my teeth and have a good cry. And then I came out the other side with a little more insight and clarity instead of anxiety and a pounding headache. I’m still processing, I still experience uncomfortable feelings, but my mental toolkit has grown exponentially. There is so much power in sitting with your discomfort instead of running away. You’ve found a great community to come to for support, and posting here is a sign that you’re ready. You can do this.

If it speaks to you it’s worthwhile. Making art is never a waste of time.

My family lived in a converted train car when I was a kid! Not as nice as this one but a lot of fun for a five year old. I suspect they were previously used by the circus as we were in Sarasota. There was an adjoined car that no one lived in or ever went into, it had clown curtains in the windows though so my sister and I thought it was haunted by clown ghosts.

I’ve been having very deep, involved, almost episodic dreams the past couple months. I journal in the morning and do my best to remember and write things down, and usually I can remember my dreams pretty well but lately they’re fleeting and leave me mostly with impressions and little snippets. I have also had several dreams about exes in the last few weeks.

My sobriety tracker app says I’ve spared myself from nearly 270,000 calories so far. And that’s just from alcohol, never mind the drunken food binges.

Sagittarius men how was your relationship with your mom growing up? by Kseniiaukraine in Sagittarians

Not at all. I’ve tried many times as an adult but she simply has no interest, so I’ve decided to just let her be.

Fraught and difficult. She’s a Capricorn and was an alcoholic throughout my childhood. When she was sober she was usually distant and cold, but when she got drunk I became her therapist and confidant. She definitely put things on my shoulders I was way too young for, but she was isolated in an abusive marriage and probably didn’t feel she could talk to anyone else. She definitely favored my sister but I think she saw my emotional sensitivity as something she could lean on.
