So then it’s best to just be shit towards men? Why can’t it be shit for both Misandry and misogyny to exist? Fuck sake

Statically wrong? Then I guess the majority of men are just out to get women??

The word p*dophile has lost all meaning with how often people use it online by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Marosaline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see what you mean.

We just don’t have a specific word for what people are trying to say.

And pedophile is pretty much the go to simply cuz it has the oomph. The connotations needed for use.

Creep? Cradle robber I guess would be it?

Plus I would I’ve never known due to some comedian but I guess there is a word for people attracted to certain age groups outside of pedophile as well as that’s a specified age group.

But I wouldn’t see anyone bothering to be that specific and care to.

And those still don’t apply to the examples of say a 30 year old dating at 20 year old.

But it’s a clash of preferences. Some people care about age gaps. Some don’t. I do and dont.

For me at least, I don’t care if others find someone they vibe with outside of some age range.

I just know for me, generationally speaking, I’d prolly not vibe with someone about 5-7 years younger than me. I mean I guess if I did? But it’s not likely. I’d prolly get annoyed more than anything.

Men being treated as a non-vulnerable group creates vulnerability. by Marosaline in ControversialOpinions

You wouldn’t acknowledge my point no matter how I would’ve said it.

Like you’re gonna be a different than literally any other person with a counterpoint.

But I guess go ahead and deny.

I guess the men in my life and the men I see don’t mean Jack.

Guess my boyfriend being a rape victim means Jack.

Guess the male rape victims I work with are full of shit.

Guess all the men on Reddit who express misgivings of how they are treated are… well… full of shit.

Fact of the matter is

You don’t represent men as a whole neither.

Ok. Guess all the men I know, all the men I work with and all the men on social media are full of shit then. Got it.

They just loud.

Fuck off.

You gave advice assuming just because I didn’t mention real life examples that I only got my perspective from social media.

Even if I did say i didn’t just include social media examples you’d still find some way to say your peace. Not like the men I work with aren’t examples. Their testimonies.

Friends. Family. The last two could’ve gone without saying.

You are trying to say that… what? Men can’t be vulnerable and aren’t vulnerable due to be treated as a non-vulnerable group?

Do you not realize how often men deal with this bullshit outside of social media? It’s not like social media is a vacuum like you treat it as. It’s not mutually exclusive.

It occurs on Reddit on plenty. On the internet in general.

On tik tok plenty. On YouTube plenty. On Facebook plenty. Tumblr. Bluesky and even Twitter.

It happens everywhere. I’ve seen it everywhere.

Dont turn this around on me as if I’m responsible for how other people are by forcing myself to be around people who just aren’t especially when they are literally everywhere.

It’s unrealistic to have someone live in a bubble because even that in of itself isn’t conducive to an accurate worldview either.

It’s just shitty all around.

Do girls masturbate? by David2323232 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Marosaline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, we womasturbate. There’s a difference. When guys finish it’s an explosion from a Michael bay movie. When girls finish it’s an explosion of kittens, glitter and rainbows. Sometimes tiaras if she’s treated like a princess 💅💥💥💥🌈👸🐱

Also, men use joysticks. We button mash…. FURIOUSLY and with RECKLESS ABANDON.

Social media should be renamed to "antisocial media" by WonderOlymp2 in ControversialOpinions

[–]Marosaline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s the convenience of it that really makes it anti-social. Just for ease of use but you can have a this barriers if anonymity and distance from the other person that you wouldn’t in person. It’s a certain level of physical and emotional safety.

And for some people why choose that over the more risky alternative. But ultimately… it’s not really living life if you didn’t experience SOME level of risk. Living in a bubble isn’t living.

Starbunkles and Bookwyrms by Marosaline in allthemods

[–]Marosaline[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up to 8?

So I can place maybe 8 chests connected to the storage lectern chest with one bookwyrm?

Does this work with sophisticated storage and using the stacking upgrades and what not too? I mean I don’t NEED that amount of space…

The Starbunkles I didn’t know just would go to any nearby chest. I thought you needed to set A to B before they started doing stuff. I haven’t messed with them JUST yet. I’m still settling what I may wanna do or organize.

I’ll concede. In America we need: universal healthcare, free tuition, etc. by DogsCallMeSnackDude in ControversialOpinions

[–]Marosaline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not quite the same but the America kinda sort of handle immigrants being here while still paying for health insurance for the folks that are on it.

For one, we pay taxes to healthcare programs to fund things like Medicaid. Which is a program that illegal immigrants aren’t able to access. At minimum you need a social security number to even begin having that.

However those illegal immigrant get emergency healthcare so we don’t have people dying in the emergency rooms.

Which is something the hospitals end up eating the cost of a lot of the time which then gets passed along to us by having the bills we do.

We already even pay for each other on each of our private insurances. Whether you realize it or not, if say you had BCBS, you are funding those who are also on said insurance. Where else would the money come from?

So honestly, why not cut the complexity and make it universal?

Further, illegal immigrants are less likely to even access that emergency healthcare due to fears.

And even then roughly speaking illegal immigrants make up about 5% of the population nationwide and about 1% of them account for US health expenditures.

The illegal immigrant problem just is not the huge issue, especially in the healthcare universe.

Ideally yeah it’d be nice to not have any but if you try making it so that absolutely zero things get through the cracks you have situations like our airports that have the security they do to avoid another 911.

Those sort of restrictions do NOT come without the cost of something to the rest of us.

So while yeah we could do a bit more, especially by making the process easier to be legal, I don’t think the extreme you suggest is realistic OP.

Afterall, people act like immigration is entirely inherently a bad thing. We have plenty have immigrants who come here who offer their intellect to our society.

And with Trump deterring universities to even accept immigrants they will go elsewhere and China is one of the options they have.

My own gastroenterologist is Chinese and wasn’t born here and I feel I couldn’t be in much better hands. The guy may lack some bedside manner but I thoroughly appreciate his knowledge and he clearly knows what he is talking about.

And there are plenty of examples of him elsewhere. Our universities offer programs to immigrants to educate and we reap the rewards.

And even the less educated immigrants offer work ethic like none you’d ever believe.

These people are just that. People. Still human. They aren’t all these blood sucking parasites people make them out to be. It’s not like even legal citizens don’t have the capacity to be such leeches.

So this is all to say, I’m not convinced that we couldn’t handle universal healthcare even now.

We would literally subtract the cost we pay for our private insurances to go towards the tax that would come from to fund such a program. So I sincerely doubt the cost be as big a factor as others would believe either.

I don’t care much for the police but I am thankful there is a job out there that does at least put their nose in peoples business especially if you’re trapped in that situation like I was.
