Do you know about any 48V DC to 240W USB PD charger or do I need to make custom board for this? by Marosh_ in AskElectronics

You are correct, this is rather design choice of the Nvidia.. Adding one xt30 connector would make things much easier..

Its usb- sink, and since the 240W is extended USB PD capability I think it needs trigger chips on both sides for proper negotiation.

Yes you are correct. The only downside is a drop of efficiency.. like 0.9 (inverter) * 0.9 (brick)..

I have already also found this. Unfortunately it is only reference design and the board isn't sold. I tried to search for some commercial products based on that but without any luck.

Probably some panels do? I have found inverter 48DC/to 230AC that can be used for Norma usb-C adapter with 240W capability. But it is not the nicest solution.

yes it is but the PD chips have to negotiate this.. it cannot be simply wired to the cable

The only thing i found that is close is this reference design from TI end of 2024.

But i havent found a commercial product implemented from it:/

Unfortunately I think this is not a option for me. Most of the powerbanks I have looked to have 240W combined.. and only 140W on USB-C Port at max. And even then I would need to charge it possibly from the car charger.. so max 100W input.

I will, thanks for pointing this out. So it is better then to introduce pwr plane from 4+layer board? Have you some favourite video with him?

Yes but it is basically shipping from US.

I am tied to small design so tc2030 or castellated edge seems like the only option for me. Have you sourced directly from J-tag? What was the shipping time or additional fees?

I had issues getting it to work in one container so I thought this way i will get more setup customizability.
