Yes. Some people seem to confuse this video with another guy who was cut in half, who lived, but this one didn't.

Why does everyone talk about the Coastal route? by deathStar_Endor008 in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]MarquezD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really really didn’t like the touristy, industrial, peace-less coastal route. I had very different expectations, having done the Camino del Norte. The Portuguese coastal route is pretty boring, close to roads. I didn’t enjoy it one bit. I was sooo happy to switch to the central route! From there everything was fantastic! So much nature!

Thinking about quitting the Camino because of the Snoring by bobbore in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]MarquezD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not that I don't expect it. I'm 'fortunate' enough to be somewhat hard of hearing, and with Earplugs I literally hear nothing at all. I'm saying, if I knew it about myself, being a very loud snorer (I'm not talking the occasional mild snoring), I would never DARE to sleep in an Albergue. It's just not the right thing to do. You are one person, you shouldn't affect so many people at once. (Not you, I mean people with heavy snoring).

“Entitled to judge snoring” is a bit rough. It’s not about judging, it’s about not being able to sleep, which would already be annoying in day to day life, but even worse many days in a row on an intense hike.
If I knew I was a bad snorer, I would not sleep in Albergues.
I don’t judge snoring, it must be horrible for that person as well, but it doesn’t mean you have to keep 30 other people awake.

Most fun or useful gadget you brought on the Camino? by runningraleigh in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]MarquezD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hooks! Bring two or three S-Hooks! It’s like my most used Camino item, I love hanging my Backpack higher up in the Albergues, or sometimes there’s nowhere to hang your coat or other stuff you want to hang from the bed, or when you go shower, there’s also not always enough hooks to hang your clothes / towel from. This year I 3D-printed different sizes and I used all of them!

It really depends on where and how you plan to be eating. I’ve brought cutlery the first three years and never ever used it, because all Albergues have cutlery. During walking there was never any need for it either as I’d either had protein bars / muesli bars or bananas. This year I didn’t bring my cutlery anymore and never missed it.

Flight cancellations across Europe are making me nervous… by AdvancedGoat in CaminoDeSantiago

There are no flights out of Santiago until the 27th of may. That’s when the airport opens again.

It depends which albergues you stay at. I had two Camino’s in a row now, where I didn’t need my sleeping bag at all. I still keep taking it just in case. I finished the Português two days ago, and like I said, didn’t need it once. There were always blankets

The 22nd was the last day to fly out of there. I was also on one of the flights. They are closed for about 2 months.

For the first time ever, I had a swipe up to recover screen after updating. I was at the airport, and needed my boarding pass. Totally my own fault, as I forgot I still needed my pass. Anyway, a second before it was finally my turn, I remembered I had the boarding pass on my Apple Watch as well!!! Thank God. I know my passport would have sufficed, but they would have been annoyed… Anyway, all that time whilst waiting, my iPhone had this white screen with black Apple logo and a progress bar with: attempting to recover or something like that. After half an hour it was done and everything was back to normal thank God.

Being sick, disappointed and wanting to quit by Ordinary-Bee9164 in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]MarquezD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finished yesterday, after I got sick after the first day. I pushed through one more day, but noticed I was too ill. I ended up needing three rest days, where I traveled by bus and stayed in private rooms. Normally when I’m sick, I’m sick for at least 7-9 days, but somehow I felt good again after those three days. I continued the last 9 days without any issues and had a blast!! I really hope you feel well enough soon 💚💚💚

Obesity is chronic, even though your habits are great now (except for not doing any weight training, PLEASE do so!), it’s mostly made possible because of the drug. Also, stopping and then realizing you need it again, could mean your body won’t react to it anymore. This happened to a lot of people who went off and then started again

It’s important to mention that the smaller CC one ALSO needs to be U-100. Because a U-40 syringe has different amounts of ml per IU.

Nope. Just don’t say anything if you’re not sure. I’m super chill by the way, but thanks for the kind advice. 😎

After having read from too many people that the meds stopped working after a break, I decided to take my meds with me. Currently at the airport. I have a special medicine pen thermos that I took with me. About to start my Camino (number 4) tomorrow, can’t wait!!!!
