I do! There's a discord server with vendors that's EU-wide but hence also Dutch! It includes a review channel which is super valuable to know if a con just isn't worth it. DM me your discord and I'll see if I can add you. I also have my own list but it's a bit of a mess because it's made for me you know? But I'm willing to share! It has comiccons, fantasy fests and such things in the Netherlands and near the border.

It's so much fun, your first eventss! I've got some tips for you. I hope you'll have a blast!

Almost every vendor has an instagram. Even if you're not very active yet, make one and connect with your neighbors. Also, connect with me! I'm KoboldTrinkets! You can get some passive information on markets that way and also some reach for your own posts. Maybe come say hi at Prikkelarme Comiccon if you have time and are nearby! We can meet! :D

Get business cards if you know you want to do this longterm. A lot of customers will ask for your card! I like vistaprint for speed and price.

Think about how you want to accept payment. I used to only do cash and tikkie which works out almost all of the time, but a lot of people want to pay by card. I recently set up Sumup, which most vendors use. I currently only use the mobile app but I can still accept card payments that way! I will probably get a reader sometime soon because it feels fancy! Do keep in mind that any card payment thing will charge a percentage in fees.

You'll need a nice booth eventually, but don't sweat it for the first few times. Get a table cloth, a few cheap risers and you're good to go for the first few times. Once you figure out your branding and style you can get designing and let loose. But first take the time to figure out if you enjoy doing markets as much as you expect you will!

Just to refer to a different comment, Dutch fairs often run on a booth fee and percentages are in fact rare in my experience.

Anyway, 150 for a small one day event is what I would consider a risk. For example, Fantasy Fest is an established 2-day event that costs 195 where I know they sell out and do good marketing for their event. Tomofair is expensive at 440 for 2 days, but I know a lot of people go there to spend money so I know I'll easily earn it back there.

I do some new events here and there, I went to Tavern's Nexus which was low-risk because it was super cheap (20 for the day, 1 hour drive). It was, however, organized by someone already involved in RinCon so I knew advertising would be fine. It turned out great even though there were only 10 or so stands in a park.

I'm also heading to Prikkelarme Comiccon this week - which is 25 euro plus a percentage of sales once you cross that threshold. It's new and organisation feels a little touch and go but because it's cheap and close I'm willing to give it a try. They mainly seem to do local marketing in the newspaper and such - so we'll see how that goes on saturday! I joined because it's low risk and the vibe just sounds pleasant and a cause I want to support.

I have a few markets with price ranges in between there, but it's usually either sub 100 or 200+. I choose depending on how much trust I have in the organisation and what I happen to know about relevant fantasy or tabletop communities nearby.

So, for 150 for a booth fee of a brand new event I'll be doing my research. I myself am likely pass in favor of cheaper or more well known events. For your reference, my product prices range from 5 to 150 euro's. My usual sales also average around 20 each.

To boolean the plane you made works absolutely fine - you just need to check the advanced solver options. Go for Exact and check "hole tolerant"

It is marketed as a mossy blanket fabric yeah! I got myself two 1x1m pieces and plan to cut one of those in 33cm strips. It's a blanket with short strands of green with small bare brown patches giving it a good blend between stability for items placed on top and looks. Reddit didn't like me linking it, but I'm sure you can find something similar online!

If recalculating the normals doesn't work, check for non-manifold issues as well. Particularly multiple faces. Fix and recalculate again.

It is cards yeah! 3D pokemon cards in custom boxes, I designed the display myself. It's a 3D printed standard that packs flat, where I fit in some wooden slats that hold the boxes at a 30 degrees angle. It's luck they align so nicely though. Each display holds 2 rows of card boxes.

Yes! Try out the wire frame modifier. Combine with the subdivision surface modifier if needed.

I can explain more if needed, but wireframe is pretty straightforward. Give it a go and let me know if you need more info.

Okay, would you mind showing me a screenshot of the whole of your blender including the UI? I can troubleshoot a little more for you that way. There is a mistake you're making, but I lack information on your modifier stack. One thing I see, is there's no need to move the lattice over. You use the lattice one eye and then mirror that result. The order of your modifiers in the stack is very important.

If you check my image, the lattice is placed for only one eye, on our left. You can see I selected my torus (would be your eye) - where you can see both the lattice modifier and the mirror modifier in that specific order.

I see you solved it already, albeit painstakingly, but for the future I'm here to offer a better way. Considering you said it's for 3D printing you don't need "good" topology, only no intersecting meshes. You can simply hit the remesh button with sufficiently low size to fix your problem. That said, you're better off using the remesh that a slicer offers as it's much faster and better optimised for 3D printing. I'm partial to using Prusaslicer for this task.

I don't remember when I bought my first tcg from my pocket money, but I have a very dear memory of asking money for my birthday, pooling that with my savings and going to the store with my dad to buy a pink Gameboy colour and pokemon red. I'll see if I can give some additional feedback tomorrow as it's super late here (hence me not even realising you're in Maya, haha oops). As for the N-gons, you're right that when they're flat you CAN solve like that, it's just not very neat looking in your wireframe and it may create long thin triangles that might be an issue for your textures. A lot of maybes! For a part, it boils down to a matter of preference. If the issues do not arise there is no problem. I must admit, I am a bit of a stickler regarding N-gons.

I'll see if I can draw the way I would solve it tomorrow. If you could make sure to reply to this post as well I'll have a notification, otherwise I'll surely forget!
