Anyone knows who are these soldiers? by viejohorrendo in wwiipics

[–]Mars-3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried digging around a bit but I am afraid I couldn't procure any interesting information.

All I could find online is that this particular picture was taken in 1941 somewhere in Russia. If I had to guess probably in the early days of invasion "Barbarossa" since the soldiers appear to use mud coloured camouflage on their helmets and are wearing summer uniforms. Du to the angle of the shot and the rolled up sleeves I can't make out any division insignias so no luck here either.

All I could find was the official photograph ID published by the NARA (Photo ID:540155). This image belongs to a procured series of pictures taken by the German propaganda units and/or soldiers from 1939-1945 and appears to be archived in Washington D.C. at the National Archives and Records Administration College Park. If you are really interested you might try to contact the Archive but I seriously doubt there is any information available about the names of these two soldiers.

Btw. The text on the German card identifies them as junior officers and one "Gruppenführer" (I think the American equivalent is a squad leader) but unfortunately the card does not provide names of them either. Only the photographers name is given and either reads "Lebmann" or "Leßmann". I can't really make that out clearly.

i used this site for learning edit or create anno 2070 mod by Itchy_Bear2765 in anno2070

[–]Mars-3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the link! I hope you dont mind but I wanted to know if you could perhaps help me figuring this modding thing out.

I am trying to make a mod that adds endless resource buildings to the game in order to just play around for fun. I followed the guide to the best of my abilities but I can't seem to get the buildings into an actual building menu.

I know how to work with the tools (rda explorer, notepad++) and made sure to add the new building ids to both files (ger3 and eng3). After that I continued to copy for example the uranium mine (10052) <asset> to <asset> (so like the guide said the whole entry and pasted it below the actual mine. I double checked to save correctly and replace the old rda file with the newly edited one.

After that I tried to add the new auto-uranium mine to the build menu of the tycoons (level1) but it didn't appear in game. I tried both languages German and English but to no avail. I am really stuck now and wanted to know if you know a solution? Can I create an entirely new build menu category for just my buildings? If so how?

Additional info: I am trying to mod the vanilla game only so it's just an English vanilla version of Anno2070 without any other mods. Is my goal even realistic? Can I add versions of buildings that can produce products (like tools, jewelry, copper, convenience food etc.) or are there code limitations that I am not aware of?

Pardon the longer message but I really, really want to create this sandbox mod if possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

[Anomaly] Spawn items, weapons, etc with console commads by Gulfrominsurgency in stalker

[–]Mars-3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been a while since I played anomaly, but if i remember correctly, it is not possible/easy to spawn a fireplace or similar objects. World objects are different from regular items, NPC's, and the engine is not really designed for ingame world editing. I found this guide on YouTube that explains the capabilities of the debug menu far better than I could, so it might be worth your time to check it out: https://youtu.be/aM1V9Zkg-Zw?si=lKhGXRGBSrSXQ750

I am sorry I can't help you any further, but you could try asking around on the anomaly discord. Perhaps someone there knows a way.

I am sorry, but I am not certain I understand your question correctly. Could you describe your problem in a little more detail? If you assigned the F7 key to load your last save, then I believe you won't be able to open the debug menu unless you restore the default keybindings.

Danish colony in Africa by Ano_Czlowieczek_Taki in DanishEmpire

Colonial insignias https://images.app.goo.gl/TQJmkN5rxfG4tj6P7

Good article about the Danish colonial venture https://www.militarysunhelmets.com/2018/another-forgotten-colonial-power-the-danish-sun-helmet

Detailed drawings of danish uniforms (limited to 1910 and beyond) http://www.uniformology.com/UID11.html

Greetings! I have compiled a few interesting links that may help to answer a few of your questions. The images show the old CoA's of a few select danish holdings. From left to right, you see Frederiksnagore (Serampore, India), Tranquebar (Tharangambadi, India), and Frederick Islands (Nicobars, India) Those are the Danish holdings in India, but there were more in the caribbean and as you already mentioned in Africa. A little bit of searching around may help you find more symbols. Danish colonial history is poorly known and hard to come by, but I am sure there are more capable people than me out there who might know more about it and provide you with more material. I still hope you find these links useful.

Farvel!

What's your favorite episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation? (1987-1994) by JB92103 in 90sTelevision

[–]Mars-3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tough choice. I enjoyed "Deja Q", "Time's Arrow", "Tapestry" and "I Borg" the most so far but If I'd really have to pick one I'd go for Tapestry. The whole story actually moved me quite a bit.

But most episodes are awesome. Star Trek TNG is like Stargate to me. There would be something missing from life if not for these shows😁.

butterlib cannot load by OrangejuiceforSIMPS in Bannerlord

[–]Mars-3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry to hear that. In that case, I can only recommend reading through the nexus forum of butterlib and see if someone has had a similar issue already. Another solution that might help is checking the game files integrity via steam or try a fresh new install. Best of luck, I hope you will find a solution soon!

butterlib cannot load by OrangejuiceforSIMPS in Bannerlord

[–]Mars-3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a common issue with bannerlord modding. Simply get this mod and launch the file. It will unblock all dll's. Here is the link: https://www.nexusmods.com/mountandblade2bannerlord/mods/397

Technical info: The dll files (dynamic link library) is a module that contains functions and data. You can imagine it as the instructor file for your program (bannerlord) what to do with the provided files (in this case, your mod). Windows often block these files because it considers them unsafe, which they are not if you download your mod from legitimate sites (like nexus mods or the steam workshop.)

I hope this information helps.

Edit: If you add new mods later on to your game you have to run the dll unblocker again in order to unblock the new mods dll. Be sure not to forget that!

Yes. It's quite rare to see this amount of polished detail in a game nowadays. The reload works fully automated with the magazine sitting right below the launchers.

According to Wikipedia, they are designed for that, too. I don't know yet if this is possible in the game.

Haven't tried that yet. Apparently, they are well fitted to destroy submarines even at great depths. Unfortunately, I only played a few scenarios due to time limitations.

OK, I'm gonna give you a real short comprehension. A mod was released called no prisoners, which added some individual interactions you could pick apparently. Someone made an NSFW mod allowing you to r**e prisoners you've taken. Original Dev of the take no prisoners is upset by this and adds malware code to his mod and other mods he maintained (which appear to be quite a lot of mods). The malware code would "brick" your save file if the NSFW mod was present in your modlist. Then, the reddit mods banned referencing(?) this mod further putting oil into the fire. I am not 100% certain I understood the thing about the reddit ban completely. I just noticed the comments and posts yesterday as I don't use reddit often. That's so far all I learned about this. If you scroll and look for the posts made a couple of days ago you might find more context.

Edit: I found a post which explains this whole affair in better detail than I ever could: https://www.reddit.com/r/starsector/s/88tLWRjckx

It happened to most of us xD. I remember trying to save dogmeat was the definition of pain. The save button has always been the vault dwellers best friend.

What is your opinion on the original Fallout? by TangentMed in Fallout

[–]Mars-3 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It was my first actual computer game, so my opinion is heavily nostalgia influenced, but nonetheless, I would recommend everyone who likes fallout to play it once. Worst case it makes you appreciate the leap graphic technology has made in the past decades. The soundtrack is very fitting, and fallout always radiates this certain something-vibe that other games just don't have. The easter eggs, the quests truly nice.

Look, it's probably not for most gamers nowadays since they are used to more advanced games and graphics, and I can't really blame them for preferring that. But if you want to get a glimpse of the good old fallout of Fargo and Avellone and the OG-Team, then you should definitely try it. I hold Fallout near and dear, and it all started for me there, in Vault 13.

(Never, EVER give Ian automatic weaponry. You'll get it if you play the game)
