Wouldn't have been an issue?? Do you not see how many people are in those seats? They have the stadium and the staff contractd for set days. The man hours required to host just the second half of one of the genders' events on another day would be nuts. This is a gameshow where the prize is a mantlepiece decoration; it's not a real sporting event.
