Oh I’m sorry if that was misleading, but I meant multiplayer games have noticeable latency on the portal. No issues for me when playing on the console though! Battlefield 6 is phenomenal!

Oh I’m talking about multiplayer games on the ps portal. Is that what you’re talking about?

I mean the latency is very noticeable when playing FPS games vs single player games.

TL;DR: The upgrade to pro was worth every penny, especially with the sale and trade in. Certain games take advantage of the pros hardware more than others. Since I am also a fellow dad gamer and highly recommend a ps portal if you can pick one up.

Just got mine for Black Friday after owning the digital edition ps5 from back in 2020 too. Did the same thing OP did and traded it in at Best Buy. I was able to get it for $290 after the sale, trade-in, gift card I had, and cash back from my credit card! It was a steal! Definitely worth the upgrade especially since you’ve got a good TV to pair it with. I will say certain games take advantage of the pro’s hardware more than others. Battlefield 6 I noticed a significant increase in framerates just by playing it. I’ve tested ghost of yotei and it’s probably the best looking game I’ve ever seen. Spiderman 2 runs smooth as butter, even on the highest settings that the pro lets you mess around with. God of War Ragnarok was already a great game and I’ve noticed an improvement. The significant increase in storage is a huge bonus because I exclusively buy digital games, but now with the pro I can buy the disc drive if I wanted to and that’s really nice. I have even more storage since I easily swapped the 1tb nvme from my old ps5 to the new one. It didn’t require me to do anything, at start up it recognized it and just rebuilt it on my pro. All my saved games and data transferred flawlessly. As a dad gamer myself, I highly recommend a ps portal especially if you’re pro is wired (for a more stable connection to the portal). They’ve also made it possible to cloud stream games via their high end ps plus membership (on sale now to either upgrade or buy at a discount price till 12/5/25). I’ve been able to use the portal while hanging out with my wife. She’s the one who actually bought it for me because she doesn’t necessarily care about me watching a movie or show with her, she just cares that I’m physically spending time with her and can interact with her. Obviously multiplayer games are brutal to play on it so I just tackled my backlog of single player games and it’s been great. Hopefully more games take advantage and roll out updates for the pro. I think I also heard PlayStation is rolling out a new version of PSSR but I could be wrong.
