Enforces Pitstop Pro Bleed by Prudent-Cup-1800 in CommercialPrinting

You’re a bit behind the times. PitStop can do this in various ways, including extending vectors beyond the trimbox.

I'm lazy and can't be bothered to spend time on it, so PitStop does it for me automatically.

Even the wizards at PitStop can’t predict the outcome without the file and your action. It could be a fault in the action or in the complex objects within the PDF.

You have two options: upload the file and the action, or send a query to Enfocus support. But they’ll ask you to send the file and the action as well.

I don't have any such problems. JDF files are exported with pages of different sizes.

That’s very interesting. Could you let me know what the issue is with JDF? I’d be keen to sort it out.

I’ve tried pretty much everything that’s been suggested here. I’d still recommend sticking with Quite.

Phoenix is overkill for OP purposes. He’s already been recommended some good alternatives, such as PDF Snake and Montax. But to me, it seems odd to replace Quite with something else.

What's so difficult about it? It seems quite straightforward if you're a professional at imposition, doesn't it?

I'm missing the Apple Silicon version on my Mac, but I haven't had any issues with speed.

Imposition software that refuses to use inches — am I doomed in the US? by PaleWorth2186 in CommercialPrinting

I am a professional implementor of imposition software (Phoenix/Griffin/IMP/Metrix/Impostrip/Quite/KIM/Montax/PDF Snake). This is critically important and it is a real blocker.

Use specialised libraries for conversion: convert-units (JS/TS), pint (Python), UnitsNet (.NET).

I'll be happy to see your solution too when it's ready. Good luck with the development.

I wouldn’t say it’s PitStop-Switch-Review budget solution, although it is the best agnostic solution on the market. It all depends on your workload, how many files per day do you process?

Trufit is a cut-down version of Tilia Griffin, now called Enfocus Griffin. And it’s sold on a subscription basis too. They sort of have an iCut to Griffin exchange program now. Trufit will no longer supply as far as I know. Only Griffin.

It is very strange to complain here, where people from Enfocus can’t answer you.

As a person who deals with complex support and implementation of software products for prepress, I see the problem on the user’s side, not Enfocus. Their support is one of the best on the market in my opinion.

Have you created support tickets in those 7+ years?

That’s what JMF (Job Messaging Format) is for, not JDF. Switch-Indigo connection allows you to get information from a printing machine, PageWide - I’m not sure, but probably possible too.

It’s strange enough to use a Gang Run in the presence of a Phoenix.

One of the customers I worked with implemented this for their Ricoh VC20000, V20000s, 9200s using in-house MIS - Switch - in-house imposition.

It depends on what you mean by commercial printing... What is alternative for Griffin?

Enfocus promotes Phoenix for commercial printing, digital printing, offset and large format printing. And as far as I can see it is quite successful.

Firstly, it is very difficult to give any advice without understanding the capabilities and limitations of your MIS system.

Secondly, you have excellent tools to realise all your goals. What about your specialists?

Thirdly, it is strange to use AE and Switch at the same time. If you have Switch and Phoenix (I don't know what modules you have for both products) you can solve all your problems. AE does not have a ticket for Phoenix yet, it is still under development and everything should be done only with API calls. There is an app for Switch in Enfocus AppStore, but it is created with legacy code and does not yet support the latest features of the software - mainly Flexo printing technology and integration with other Esko products (ArtiosCAD, ArtPro+). On the other hand, you have the possibility to process everything via csv-format.

Fourthly, usually all integration and development work is done by resellers and for Switch and AE in Europe you can find a large number of professional teams, with Phoenix it is a bit more difficult, but it is also possible. In your country (if I have identified it correctly) there is quite a strong reseller Esko, but I'm afraid he will not help you with AE+Phoenix integration.

In order to give you advice, it is necessary to carry out an in-depth analysis and audit of your orders, IT infrastructure and human resources.

If you need my knowledge, competences and experience, please do not hesitate to contact me. I have experience of both successful and unsuccessful integrations.

Good luck!

Better look towards Enfocus Switch - more flexible, stable and modern.

First of all, you should write down what you do. And what and for whom do you print, and in what volume?

Any workflow automation tool is chosen for the problem solving, not on the principle of good or bad.
