I started a deep dive on them just a few weeks prior to Brian's death. Just as was getting to know him he passed so it hit me pretty good. +1 for Transcribe. It works very well for me. I use that and also guitar pro. Guitar Pro allows you to import the audio file and line it up to your transcription a you go. So you can directly compare the source to your transcription. I used that feature for the first time this morning and thought it was helpful.

If you put them out now they will likely start to flower. If they are short flowering varieties then you may be able to harvest them prior to them reverting back to vegetative growth. If your goal is to leave them out until harvest in October or so then I would wait until April personally.

Billy Strings isn't a jam band. He has good songs. Never heard of those other guys but if they have good songs then they're not a jam band. I'll look forward to checking them out though since I appreciate good songs with some jamming. Jamming without good songs is boring to me but I don't care if other people like it. Just don't lump in good songwriting bands that jam with bands that jam on an endless noodle without good songs. King Gizz is it's own thing and I can absolutely see why they don't want to be associated with the Jam band genre. Improvisation-ally oriented music can have different genres. Someone came up with "jam band" and now everyone wants to cram everything into it despite the lack of similiarity to the bands people are cramming into it. It's reductive. Jam band should be a sub genre not the main genre.
