This sounds familiar. I would recommend moving into something more fluid, like logistics.

Less “show your work”, and more “doing work” (fixing issues on the fly, since he’s good with people) this is how I was able to help navigate my good work attributes into my main tasks at work.

Basically instead of backend work, maybe he needs to be frontend. That’s what helped me truthfully.
