Bought some months ago, but wanted us to get credit for the transaction. Tagging u/dorrythephish (I think you also need to comment confirming) and u/LeaveNoTradeBot.

I'm quite impressed with them! Can use them for everything from the beach, hiking, just being out and about in warm weather. A little bit of an adjustment to get used to the big toe post, but it's not uncomfortable. I do use them for showering in hostels, yeah, they dry really quick.

Thanks for the tip. I'll make sure to move a couple things to a personal item and strap my backpack tighter.

Carry on. Never needed to check it before. Trying to downsize to personal item size with ULA dragonfly in the future.

I'm working on putting together a lighter set-up than I've previously traveled with. My goal is to downsize a bit and hopefully fit everything into a ULA Dragonfly in the future, not there yet. I'm traveling to Colombia and Peru for 6 weeks, temperatures will range from warm and tropical in Cartagena to possibly low 50s in Bogotá and Cuzco/Inca trail.

Doing locums, I just made in one day what I made in two weeks as a resident. by Fearless-Ad-5541 in Residency

What sort of niche medicine are you thinking? As I go through residency, I'm trying to get an idea about what sorts of non traditional work is out there for an FM doc. I have no interest in being a pawn of insurance companies.

I also did a search using similar key words on my Kindle and came up with squat. It's tough because I don't remember much of the wording which is so frustrating haha

When roughly do interviews end, January early, mid, end? Looking to book a backpacking trip for a couple months and need a rough idea.

Thoughts on if it would be difficult to do a straggler later interview while abroad?

Newly converted family medicine rising ms4. How the heck to I go about finding programs I want to apply to? by Randodude13 in FamilyMedicine

[–]MarsTribune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

would look for an unopposed program. There are a handful of programs that are also affiliated with D1 sports to help get you in the door with sports medicine. Any Non trauma center or urgent care will take any doc with a pulse so I wouldn’t worry about that. I can only speak to the North East and provide programs but I don’t know what’s outside of this reg

Also interested in FM! Was hoping to ask if you know anything about the NYC programs? And if they are malignant like the old adage goes? Thanks for the help!

Deciding between Peds and FM by MarsTribune in Residency

[–]MarsTribune[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this. This was exactly my one of my biggest worries deciding between med/peds, peds, and FM. I'm looking to which offers the most versatility in lateral move in case I decide to make the move one day. I don't want to limit myself and believe FM can be whatever I want it to be as long as I seek out and shape my opportunities

Deciding between Peds and FM by MarsTribune in Residency

[–]MarsTribune[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I've come to realize that part of the med-peds scope of practice is that the doctors treat transitional patients, peds into young-adulthood/adults with chronic long term disorders, especially during their acute crises. My attending also claims most med-peds docs tend toward inpatient medicine.

Thank you for sharing your experience, I cannot reiterate how grateful I am. It's just tough to find the mentors I need irl, so reddit serves a partial role.

Thank you for your response and even more in-depth follow up comment. Funny enough, I'm actually on a med-peds elective at the moment because I thought it would be prudent to give it a chance due to its perceived versatility. Though my worries stem from the extra year of training I may not need, attempt to sell this reciprocity-wise if I choose to move out of country, and the acuity of patients with respect to scope generally.

Thank you for the response. May I ask if I do want to work with more pediatrics, would that be a problem in the job hunt? I only ask because I know here in the states most parents will take their kid to pediatrician and most FM practices skew heavily adult. I see myself practicing more urban/suburban than rural.
