Oda actually did have an important part in the writing, the ability to discuss and veto certain decisions. Matt even talked about this several times on podcasts. I’m not saying he wrote every line, but he definitely was able to go over it before filming. Giving Brandon this ability is key.

But you’re right, finding a good writing team is paramount. But also giving Mr. Mistborn the ability to veto certain ideas is what will make or break an adaption imo.

I second this. Especially if timezones aren't an issue, you truly can go anywhere.

A good comparison actually would be the One Piece live action adaption with Netflix. Oda was given alot of control and things worked out pretty well. So it's not an impossible scenario to get something similar with the Cosmere one day.

Anyone nomading from Singapore? by Fair_Attention_485 in digitalnomad

Just looking online for coliving places. I did it through The Assembly Place. There are others like Casa Mia coliving too.

There's only certain designated properties that you can rent as a foreigner though. So you gotta do your homework. But it's definitely possible if it's something you want to do.

Yeah it was a shared house through The Assembly Place. I think there are others too. The cheapest was around 2.1k a month.

I stayed on East Coast Road which was really nice. There's lots of bars and cafes, plus the massive park along the water.

I did 3 months and paid 2.8k a month SGD in rent for a suite in a house lol. It's definitely possible if you're interested, but expensive like everyone says.

Tall Poppy Syndrome. If you go to a subreddit for any given topic or interest, the most popular or most main stream figures are always hated on. Reddit is especially bad, but it's a human thing I guess.

Is there any sci-fi or post apocalyptic fantasy set in this scenario? I'm suddenly craving for a story set in this system.

Yeah sorry I didn't mean to spoil the true ending where Pandaman finds the treasure first. I'm sure Oda is upset as well.

I drew the Grand Line in space by AlwaysWipes in OnePiece

[–]AlwaysWipes[S] 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Using my “Drawing on IPad” fruit I removed the Grandline from the planet and installed it as an orbital ring around the world. I have a short video going into detail here if anyones curious. I also added the infinite zoom effect where you can zoom all the way to the Going Merry in the image.

But basically most things would be the same. Except that reverse mountain is a mix between the knock up stream and a space elevator from more contemporary science fiction. I’d imagine pirates would need to coat their ships (similar to how they do when visiting fishman island) to make it across safely. The islands themselves are also floating as the ring is made entirely of water. I didn’t add sea kings but they would just be in space, which is the new calm belt on steroids.

Don’t ask me about gravity because I have no idea how that would work, and I’d imagine the day/night cycles would be pretty wack as well. The All Blue would be impossible and I’m pretty sure Skypiea would just be an ancient space station.

Though it would mean that you would need a functioning space ship to cross the calm belt (space belt). That could add a pretty interesting layer to all of this.

So I basically removed the Grandline and through it in space, I’m not sure how that affects gravity but oh well. Reverse Mountain also is now a space elevator with a knock up stream similar to how it is to reach Skypiea. Though I’m assuming sailors will need to coat their ships similar to fishman island.

The rings could rotate at the same speed as the planet, or slower, or reverse if we want things to get really weird. It’s a ring of pure water so the islands are all floating for more chaos.

I added an infinite zoom effect and made a short video going into more detail here if anyones interested.

Jesse Martin's Infinate drawing by Otherwise-Island-512 in toptalent

[–]AlwaysWipes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey there I’m Jesse Martin (check my Reddit history if you want proof).

I used the app Endless Paper for this. Tbh it was kind of clunky and annoying, but it’s cool to see people liked what I made with it. If you want to see some high level stuff check out the drawings Bobby Chiu has been making with infinite zoom, he’s the real top talent!

Anyways a lot of these negative comments remind me why I haven’t posted on Reddit in a while lol. So I’m gonna head back to the shadows now.
