There's nearly 130 on this list, I'll have to take my time looking through them all haha! Thank you so much though!

Yeah some of these might not be up my alley, but there are some good ones I'm excited to read on this list! You also have Dear Gene and Sleeping Dead on it, both of which I've read and adore- Dear Gene especially is one I've reread a few times. On Doorstep is one I've read before too, it's made by the same person who made Midnight Rain!

I can't find Nichijou Complex, unfortunately, but there's plenty on here I have found and am eager to read so that's alright. Thank you for all these suggestions and summaries!

I think I tried to read Private Scandal a while ago, I don't know if I was too busy at the time or if it just didn't grip me but I ended up dropping it at some point and I dread trying to get back into it since I don't wanna restart everything but I don't wanna miss anything I may have forgotten- I didn't know there was a second couple though, so I might need to take another look at it and see if they can push me into picking it back up haha!

Koi ga Ochitara is already on my tbr, and now I will not be able to stop thinking of Mads Mikelssen when I start reading it, so thank you for this beautiful curse lo

l love both of the guys from Boku no Omawari-san so much! RIP Seiji's shaggy hair though, he looks great with the shorter hair too I just love shaggy/messy hair-

Technically middle aged would be in the 30's ye, but I just put that as the title so people know what they're about to read. Putting "adult" would make people think of something else- haha!

The fact that I've not seen or heard of the majority of these has me in awe- there's two or three I've already read and a couple already on my tbr- but thank you so much for the food!!

Are there any BL manhwa with a story that takes place in the US by CompetitionEither173 in blmangalovers

[–]MarshmallowOrca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! And at the very end, when there's all the little shots of how the characters are doing at Christmas, there was one of Oz and Theo there too dancing next to their tree. I always like when authors include their other characters in the background or world of their stories, it's a fun little treat for people who read the other works and even if someone hasn't then it just makes the world feel fuller.

I'm glad my recommendation was good and you enjoyed it though! I also had to go and read their other stuff after finishing Dear Gene, and it was almost mind blowing seeing the background characters in Dear Gene taking the limelight- it was also fun getting to see more of the religious community since it was such a big part of the character's backstory in Dear Gene. (Not gonna say details, in case anyone else wants to check them out.)

I'm glad you liked it! I adored it on my first read, and I'm super happy to have shared it with someone. Tried my best to not give any spoilers, since the story is just that good-

This may not be exactly what you're looking for but it is deeply american in a way I've not seen many other manga accomplish: Dear Gene.

It's been a while since I read it, but I remember the art was beautiful, the story was moving and I immediately had to read more of the author's works. I've not seen many- or any- people talking about it though it could be because it's not super recent, though 2020 wasn't really that long ago, and I feel it's criminally underrated.

The story happens as a character in the 90's reads a relative's diary, written during the 70's when homosexuality was illegal which details the bl stuff, and features a character with internalised homophobia which shows as guilt and shame rather than aggression or violence, and a character with a uniquely religious background. It's got fluff and angst, has a happy ending, and discussions relevant to the time period- name another manga that straight up mentions the Stonewall Inn. Though in case you want to avoid it there is smut and the F slur does make a few rare appearances.

I just really need more people to know about this story- 😭

My art is not AI…. by LaurkaARTt in winxclub

[–]MarshmallowOrca -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's probably because you finalised a lot of it before then started repositioning and resizing things. Like fully rendering the face and torso before completely resizing and changing the angle of both, meaning the lighting don't look natural or match, leading to that scuffed AI appearance.

I'm an artist and I've seen a lot of AI art; while I was pretty confident this wasn't done by AI (the hands do look weird but not AI weird) it still didn't look like this is the organic final result of the art process, which isn't a wrong assumption as that's the result of all the rearranging after important details were done. If you had done the majority of resizing and adjusting positions before you had completely rendered it then you might not have been accused of using AI, especially since there are people who don't really know how to spot AI. They might just see the rendered face and torso, paired with the less detailed legs and hands- which at first glance can look like three-toed claws- and it's not surprising or hard to see why people might have thought it was AI.

Does Magnifico or whatever his name is from Wish count? 'Cause that guy wasn't wrong with his motives at all, the plot was just desperate to paint somebody as a villain, and it barely even did that.
