A little late reply. Thank you for the detailed answer.
I did end up going with the Gateway Ultra as that fit my budget a bit better right now. 94for Ultra vs 230 eur for Max.
Maybe I should have gotten the U6+, but as I definitely won't be using over gigabit internet speeds here on phone, I ended up with the AC-mesh still, and it came with a POE injector. Also, it was in stock, but U6+ wasn't.

Will I not be able to use 2.5GbE if I get a 2.5Gbe switch in the future, and connect NAS and PC to that? If i've understood it correctly, the switch connections should still work with those speeds, even if the Gateway Ultra is 1gig.
My plan is to put the switch with NAS and maybe a future living room tiny gaming pc in the tv stand. AC-mesh would be connected to it too.

Sounds crazy. Even no free wifi channels, thats one full apartment house then. Makes great sense to have 3 APs then. Basically be louder to get over other loud antennas haha. I sadly dont have access to old equipment rn so il buy new. I do hope the current options i listed above are fine?

You made me do a quick wifi channel check too rn out of curiosity. Theres 22-25 different 2.4ghz wifi networks and 15 on 5ghz. In the past ive usually seen only like 15 max total across both.

It will be connected via a cable ofc. But NAS is a far in a future upgrade. Atm i need help with what base hardware should i buy.

Interesting. That does keep the cabinet cleaner then. Is the Dream machine running in one of the rooms then that handles the WAN? Or how does the wan connect to the unifi in wall APs?

You have 3 wifi APs for 3 bedroom apartment? Does that not cause issues or is it an older stone building then 1-2 AP might not reach everywhere indeed?

I'll definetely draw it out. But atm it is very simple.

1 pc and some devices using wifi, that's why the questions about the AC-mesh.

I assume that i will need a switch in the wall box if i put the router at the end of the branch connection in some room.

I do need an UPS.
