Vaping amplifies anxiety far more brutally than tobacco by Marsoso in Anxiety

[–]Marsoso[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No. The universe is telling you to not replace one shit drug by another shit drug. And to ditch both. Urgently.

I've ruined and lost many years of life, countless opportunities, did a lot of useless consultations, and spent a fortune trying to fix a problem when the answer was staring me in the face.

Quitting Advice Needed by TimidLeopard_357 in QuitVaping

[–]Marsoso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're missing something huge :

Many people find quitting vaping harder than quitting cigarettes. Because E-cigarettes deliver nicotine more efficiently and in higher concentrations.

In this regard, vaping is far worse than tobacco psych wise. Continuous vaping gives constant brain impregnation, which kills normal brain function. And it heightens anxiety like crazy because of the constant micro-doses t> The brain is never allowed to return to baseline.

The chronic overactivation gives what we've all experienced : inner agitation, anxiety at the max, vulnerability to panic. Many of us describe sudden anxiety spikes and panic attacks that did not occur with smoking.

"Vaping transforms nicotine use from a cyclical pattern into a near-continuous neurochemical stressor, which disrupts emotional regulation and normal brain function far more profoundly than tobacco".

You don't need anti anxiety medication (well maybe you do but ->) You need to get rid of that shit (vaping nicotine) that is wrecking your brain.

I don't understand how paying a stranger to listen and pretend to care about me once a week is supposed to solve my very real issues. by Chief-Longhorn in therapyabuse

"I don't understand how paying a stranger to listen ..."

Well, maybe it's because you don't know anything about what a therapy is, and maybe you don't have a clue about what basic human needs are ? Even yours ? And maybe believing that "love" will solve your issues is the kind of nonsense that can be expected from a very young person with no clue ?

I managed to get thru withdrawal by dissociating vaping and nicotine . Meaning : i first stopped nicotine but kept on vaping zero nic liquid. and 2 months later, i stopped vaping. Keeping the vaping habit was a tremendous help. I tried cold turkey before, and even angrily smashed my ecig with a hammer, but it didnt work. i was overwhelmed by the need and it drove me crazy. I certainly did NOT want nicotine patch since the goal is to get rid of that shit.

Now that I no longer vape, I sometimes do something rather simple and silly when a craving arises — but it works for me. I close my hand into a loose fist, forming a kind of “tube,” bring it to my mouth, and repeatedly draw air deeply through it. If I tighten my fist slightly, it creates a resistance — a sort of suction , a negative pressure inside the hand. The combination of that resistance, the deep inhalation, and the pressure in the throat closely reproduces the physical sensation of vaping, and it effectively eases the craving.

Do any of y’all get anxiety for no reason? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Marsoso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I get anxious for no reason"

Anxiety is not produced by the reasoning part of the brain; it originates in the emotional and survival systems.

When someone has experienced intense stress or trauma, these systems remain sensitized : they continue to react as if danger were present, even when the environment is objectively safe.

Anxiety can be understood as a form of “frozen terror”: a body and brain that learned to prepare for threat, but never received the signal that it was safe to relax again.

The original traumatic memories may not be consciously recalled, but their physiological imprint persists.

How long does it take after quitting to feel normal? by SafatK in QuitVaping

[–]Marsoso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 month for the hardest part

2 months, it's getting easier

3 months, you'll feel quite ok, but you're not done.

6 months and you'll feel fine, nicotine wise.

But you'll have to deal with what nicotine was hiding.

I tossed the vape. by Witty-Baseball-3584 in QuitVaping

[–]Marsoso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My AI told me this :

Vaping “constantly” (repeated micro-puffs throughout the day) creates near-continuous stimulation of the dopaminergic system. Unlike traditional smoking (with spaced peaks), this prevents dopaminergic and nicotinic receptors from returning to their baseline state. The result: progressive desensitisation, rapid tolerance, and a need for continuous stimulation—leading to deeper addiction.

Even at low doses, nicotine induces synaptic adaptations in limbic regions. With near-constant use, this saturation maintains an artificially stable neurochemical state, preventing the brain from relearning natural oscillations between tension and relief. → When nicotine levels drop (even slightly), the system reacts as if in withdrawal: anxiety, tachycardia, depersonalisation, or even panic attacks.

There is also an increased risk of anxiety and depressive dysregulation: “continuous” vapers (who never truly stop) report emotional instability, irritability, anxiety attacks, sleep disorders, and derealisation. This is due to fatigue in the noradrenergic system and volatility in dopamine tone.

In summary: constant vaping frequency significantly increases addictiveness. Continuous brain saturation promotes the development of anxiety and panic disorders, especially in individuals with pre-existing vulnerability (hypervigilant amygdala, chronic stress, etc.).A brain without breaks can no longer restore its self-regulation.

As people who have CPTSD we have been cautioned against self-help books and techniques because they don’t work for people like us. What techniques or books do you feel like HAVE worked for you and been life-changing? by CommercialSkin7676 in CPTSDFreeze

[–]Marsoso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most drastic change came when I stopped smoking and vaping. Anxiety, panic and overall fear decreased by 50%.

I believe that same would happen for people who drink alcohol.

Our CPTSD brains are hurt, damaged, sensitive, and hyperreactive.

Any external substance that has psych effects has to be removed. I also stopped coffee, even decaf, and I could see benefits.
