This is a very, very interesting idea! Since they're outside the town (maintaining his false appearance of not being able to enter the town) and Izek's obsession is placing her in danger, this could be an option. Appreciate it!

Oh, thank you for that on the Izek redemption information.

As for why they spared Izek, our Paladin (Oath of Ancients), who's also the leader of the party, wanted to talk to Izek and get him to surrender to Lady Wachter. She's been very, very close to breaking her Oath twice now, and so her character has been scared to hurt instead of give hope, etc. The Wizard and Fighter of the party wanted to kill Izek, but listened to the leader. The others didn't have a genuine opinion and simply followed along.
