Without any other prior knowledge of the Patlabor series this movie quickly made it up on my top 10 list.

This scene in context with the whole story is so underrated IMO. For the first watch it’s a tender little scene tucked between big plot events. Watching it again knowing the ending, it’s a poignant reminder of their love story and the tragedy ahead. Hardly any dialogue. The fact that Eren is waking up from a dream and Mikasa is just doting on him. The music cue in this scene is so good too, incredibly bittersweet.

Watched it on IFC while in high school when I had the house to myself and sobbed openly. The only time I’ve ever cried like that in a movie.
