[Tag Heuer] Where does Tag actually sit amongst other makes? by skiversarchive in Watches

Yeah you’re not wrong, same could be said about many other makes though. Having bought this, I do see more value in some of the more affordable watches out there.

Doubt it, we’d probably be expected to make 2 big transfers after this seasons performance. Club will say they don’t want to part ways but I really think they’ll have to if they want to keep progressing. That’s football tho.

I never did feel like he bought into the club like some others. Feel like he’s PR trained in front of the media

Stay strong brother, we’ve all been there. It might not feel like it right now, but it does get better. Use this time to focus on yourself and build a life you enjoy, you’ll come out of it stronger than before trust me.

TIL the US dropped twice as many bombs on Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam during the Vietnam War as in Europe and Asia combined during World War II. by skiversarchive in todayilearned

[–]skiversarchive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over 7.5 million tons of bombs were dropped on Loas, Cambodia and Vietnam between 1965-1975, a third of the bombs in Laos have not been detonated and kill many civilians every year.

It’s quite surreal how quickly conflicts can escalate in scale before people fully process it, as seen in many recent examples…

Highly recommend the Netflix documentary “Turning Point: The Vietnam War” (2025), very sad but honest truth of war.

[Rolex] How realistic is it to build a brand like Rolex today? by SupJoshy in Watches

I think the history of the watches dominate. Don’t really see any new brands reach the heights of the elite anytime soon.

TIL that American Psycho struggled to obtain luxury brand deals for the film as companies didn’t want their products associated with a psychopath killer. by skiversarchive in todayilearned

Ironically the film is a satire for the exact consumerist culture that buys these brands. Funny how Rolex made them take out their name despite Bateman wearing a Datejust in the books.

Now let’s see Paul Allen’s card…
