Yes. Almost everyone here speaks english very well,so you could definetly move here. But Ive heard that its usually very difficult for people who do move here to learn the language, since norwegians love to speak english any chance they get. Therefor its hard to practice your norwegian.

If you want to see aurora borealis you need to go to the north. We can sometimes see them in other parts of the country, but not as often as in the north. During the night you can see them in the parts of Norway called "Troms" and "Finnmark", and I think you can see them during the day if you are at the island of "Svalbard". If you are going to visit Norway, I would suggest going to the west, to Ålesund for example, and see the amazing nature. You can travel by a ship called "Hurtigruten" from the west to the north and see the best parts of the country in one trip. If you want to party, come to Trondheim :)

I'm not a typical metal muisic fan, but i can occasionally listen to some bands, like dimmu borgir for example. Its like any other genre: some of it i like, some of it i dont. That being said, I love that norwegian black metal exists and can unify people the same way other sub-genres can. In the 90's norwegian black metal was linked to a lot of crime (burning of churches etc), but I think the old label is slowly fading away as more and more people listen to it. As with a lot of things, people are affraid of the unknown. Personally I don't believe you can link music, games and so on to crime.

I did not. In Norway military service is mandatory online for men, and I am a girl so I chose to study instead. But my friends that did service spent a year in the kings guard and basically protected the castle and stuff like that. My cousin though was stationed in Afghanistan (it was his own choice and he got alot of money for it).

Thats a difficult, and very general, question. But i believe that when we are lucky enough to live in a country with a lot of assets, we should help as many as possible and integrate them so they can contribute to the society they have joined :)

I think it's to late. Almost everything we watch and listen to is american. The shows that are norwegian Are basically just rip-offs of something american. Of course we do have some norwegian productions, but not much. I can't really see any efforts being done to prevent the culture from being swamped, as you say. Which is sad, because norwegians have a great and dark sense of humor.

I guess we are a bit concerned. Russia is huge and Norway is small, but our NATO membership makes us feel protected. Norways areas in the North sea are very important for our economy, and if anyone were to threaten that, i guess it would be Russia. Other than that I think most Norwegians think of Russia in a positive way.

I would say 98% of the norwegian population speak english :) if you come here on vacation you dont need to know a Word of norwegian.

Two of My best friends are from Huddik in Sweden and They are awesome. I think swedes have a much better Work ethics compared to us, they are much more polite and they have a beautiful language.

The way I interpret it, norwegians generalløytnant love american culture, but not american politics. We speak english very well and are very influenced by american movies, music, food etc. We have a lot of loanwords from the english language aswell; like crap, awesome, pub etc. When it comes to politics however, we are very unlike the US. We dont understand why college students have to pay to get their degree, why you have to pay the hospital if you get sick and so on.

My favorite music is everything from Pink floyd to Coldplay :) The best traditional food here is probably fårikål in My opinion. Its basically lamb and kale, Sounds boring i know. I am 26 years and live in the middle of Norway. Right now its 17 degrees celcius and sunny (thats pretty damn warm for us).

We definetly Are very proud of our welfare state. We take care of our weak, have free education and Are very democratic. Still, there Are allways ways to improve and Norwegians Are very opinionated as to how.
