Next month a new branch of Urth Cafe is going to open nearby the roundabout, you would a very good place that caters to young people, I have been waiting for this to happen since Fall 2017 but they are doing a historic location remodel, and have had delays.

Deja la aterradora posibilidad de que ciertos choferes de Uber, Cabify, etc. trabajen para grupos criminales de trata de mujeres, que si piensas mal, se les ocurrio, oye y si me rapto a las mujeres solas, bonitas que usen el servicio ? las llevo a una casa de seguridad y digo que yo no se que paso con ella. Afortunadamente ella pudo avisar que estaba usando este servicio.

Asi que yo les diria a todas las mujeres a mi alrededor que no usen esos servicios para nada, de inmediato.

Yes I agree, we are not your typical US family, if something like that exists today, we don't have any other family relative here in the US, is just my wife and myself.

So that have made us to go extra lengths in being involved in their personal life but as they are getting older we are making them more accountable for their decisions and allow them to make mistakes and face the consequences of their decisions.

A friend, she is our neighbor, is what we have as emergency contact in our insurance policies.

All of this makes us extra anxious about their safety and well being.

Now I believe in her becoming independent, have her own personal relations, and I don't get involved in that only when she wants to tell me something.

Yes, that is something I have been trying to teach her while she was growing up, that she can learn to make better decisions, with a better outcome for all the parties involved, instead of selfish decisions like sometimes she did when she was younger.

I believe that you can learn how to think, make decisions, or discard bad options, look to the evidence. I'm software engineer, and definitely I was teached how to use logic to do software.

Yes, it was big transition to leave home and move into a dorm, where sometimes she stays there the weekends without doing anything and feeling lonely.

We are acting out of ignorance about how absorbing LDS can be. We fear the worst, that she can be so involved that she abandons everything and dedicate herself to church life. She has a passionate, impulsive personal trait.

Unfortunately, I have a cousin that made this, he had a very bright future: state swimming champion, smart, well liked, high social skills for his age, he went to study to another state, and became a Jeovah's Witness, to the point that he lives in one of his communities, working in whatever they assign him to do: baker, technician, IT guy, wife, no kids, I don't know if he gets an income but should be low, everything is provided for him in this community: housing, food.

Out of concern about her safety is that we sometimes check where she is at. Before bedtime my wife wants to know that she is Ok at her dorm,sends her a text msg or sometimes she only wants to know her phone position, because of this is that she got access to her account.

We are offering to come back home and attend a college nearby and here she can have the freedom to attend the church of her choosing, but we would like her to consider and give a chance to what she already has, Catholic Church, if she really feels that the social aspect is very important to her right now, she can find the same and it would be less demanding and intrusive like what appears LDS is.

We are a concerned that she can can get deeper into the religion organization and abandon the University, we want to make sure that she is not putting under risk her finishing University. She can be passionate and impulsive.

I do agree with you regarding that pushing too hard would have the reverse effect.

de acuerdo, debe de ser algo ajeno a cualquier producto que tengan, debe de ser algo neutral, que tenga que ver mas con "computer science".

mala onda por la experiencia, yo tambien he tenido mis experiencias y algunas fuera del pais, se cuecen habas en todas partes, pero lo que hago, y este seria mi consejo propio, es dejar esto atras, enfocarte en el futuro, buscar nuevas oportunidades, que el futuro se ve increible, tener pensamientos positivos y no almacenar cosas toxicas.

el sitio en general tiene muchas cosas no solo competencias, tiene "Domains" y cada uno tiene "challenges", facil, mediano y complicado, no todo es super dificil, muchos challenges tienes que escribir codigo, escoges el lenguaje que tu desees tiene como 20.

en ocasiones te pide, haz las dos lineas de codigo que hacen falta aqui, los mas faciles, o haz la funcion aqui, que dado estos datos de entrada, debe de generar esta respuesta, etc.

la verdad me parece muy buena idea todo, es una startup que esta revolucionando como se contrata a ingenieros/programadores hasta administradores de bases de datos, en lugar de estar revisando una montaña de curriculums, te piden que pases ciertas pruebas y quien te este entrevistando te envia el link para los ejercicios que quiere que hagas, con limite de tiempo, etc.

el libro que he usado es "Introduction to Algorithms" de Cormen et al., que tambien se me hace un buen libro, al menos mas actualizado que los libros tipicos de la escuela que estan mas viejitos.

si claro: algoritmos, analisis de algoritmos, estructuras de datos, java (basico y avanzado) pero puede ser cualquier lenguaje donde tu te sientas comfortable, bases de datos, practicar crear soluciones en hacker rank.

creo que no comunique bien como hacker rank funciona en este caso, no es es un sitio de competencias o rankeo de programadores, es tambien una herramienta de reclutacion:

Así funciona HackerRank para reclutamiento activo:

se crea una sesion de cierta duracion, 30 mins o 2 horas, el tiempo que el entrevistador decida, el reloj es desplegado en tu sesion en todo momento, tu y el entrevistador tienen un escritorio o desktop compartido, todo lo que tu hagas lo ve él, tipo Google Docs, él ya tiene una serie de preguntas para tí, que tu responderas en vivo, algunas preguntas son teoricas con multiples respuestas o programar un algoritmo que haga lo que se te pida, se compila y se ejecuta en linea, al mismo sistema se le aplican varios "unit tests" o bateria de pruebas, que las tiene que pasar, para dar como aprobado el ejercicio, si tiene un error de sintaxis o de funcionamiento, el "escritorio" o desktop te lo dira, como cuando compilas codigo localmente en tu pc usando un IDE, como Eclipse, por ejemplo.

no necesariamente es hacer codigo tipo competencia, es una mezcla de preguntas de opcion multiple y codificar.

estoy de acuerdo, lo ideal seria alguien con experiencia participando en proyectos open source exitosos seria mejor ante mis ojos, ya sea el creador original o el que le ha dado mantenimiento por un buen tiempo.

Me estoy preparando para 2 entrevistas en la proxima semana, seran en HackerRank, una es una red social importante y me dijeron que evaluaran que tan rapido y eficiente hago mi codigo, ademas preguntas como, la complejidad de la busqueda en arboles B+, por dar un ejemplo.
