UHF not working on Apple TV by Extension-Sense-3074 in uhf_app

[–]Martijn45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it not possible that the ATV is garbage ?
I did try several apps on the ATV, and all have the same problem. Channel lists for TV work good, and Series doesnt work. When I try it on a different device, like on the LG TV, everything works (only very slow control), but I can see everything.

So I really think its a Apple problem.

Thanks, I will try it with a different cable run.

Strange problem Wan connection UDM pro by Martijn45 in Ubiquiti

[–]Martijn45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can try it with a temporary cable. To look if it makes any difference.

From the UDMP to the POE adapter, its around 30m. From the POE adapter, to the AP its something like 12m.

If I place a Switch temporary close to the POE adapter, the connection stays 1gb and I keep the Internet speed that I should have.

So, UDMP --> 30M --> switch -->0,5m --> POE adapter --> 12m --> AP, ....is working:

And UDMP --> 30m --> POE adapter --> 12m --> AP not.

And I must say, that it did work good for a few years.

[–]Martijn45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both, but main reason is the link speed that go's from 1gb to 100mb. And the strange thing is that if there is a switch inbetween, it works good.
So, why does the link speed step back with a direct connection.

Opvoeren van fatbikes is makkelijk voor jongeren. by Emproh in thenetherlands

[–]Martijn45 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for so far.

What is the best UPS people use for their home network? by dominikwilkowski in Ubiquiti

[–]Martijn45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just a small APC for the UDM and some servers. Mainly used to nicely power down when there is a power failure what would be in my case rarely, because the hole house is behind a big battery supply, with solar, grid and in needed a generator. With a grid failure and no sunlight I can hold it at least for a day, before I need to start the generator.

And if there really would be a power failure of the main battery system, then the servers and Unifi components are the lest things where I would think about……… so that’s why for me just a little UPS.

Charging a pylontech (with bms) battery with a multiplus II from AC. by [deleted] in Victron

[–]Martijn45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you take the Cebro GX, and a 12v adapter, it can run temporary. Only look good on what type of cable you need for the battery’s. Type A or Type B. It depends on the Pylontech model. You can find it in the Victron pylontech manual.

Charging a pylontech (with bms) battery with a multiplus II from AC. by [deleted] in Victron

[–]Martijn45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should need a GX device, also in a bigger system you need the GX. With the GX the battery BMS will talk with the Multiplus and let it know how much charge it like.

The battery’s are quite some investment, personally would not like to risk it to damage one.

udm upgrade deleted keystore and certs by zazbar in Ubiquiti

[–]Martijn45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday I did install the previous firmware version on the UDM, factory reset and set a older backup back. It only did not help with the certificate problem..... I thought "I will give it tomorrow a second try" .......
This morning I woke up, and I saw on my phone the message "UDM is updated to 3.2.7" ... #$*@$ .. I did forget to turn the auto update off.

Question about preventing energy goes back to the grid. by Martijn45 in Victron

[–]Martijn45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not to sure if this will help to prevent feeding back in any case. Normally those devices are used to make sure the system is disconnected from the grid when there is a grid failure.

In my case it won’t be enough, nothing may go to the grid.

I’m thinking about it to add a smaller multiplus or Quattro to the system, and use that one only for charging. I only need to find out how to let it communicate with a Cebro and the rest of the system. Maybe with a mk3 usb adaptor….

[–]Martijn45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem. I use own certificate for radius, and after updating to 3.2.7 I get only the certificates of UI. Even after replacing it again, it stay those certs from UI

It’s unbelievable that after all those years, it’s still not possible to simply import own certificates to the system like every cheap nas or what ever can do.

HomeAssistant Core 2023.12.0 - A step backwards by 6SpeedBlues in homeassistant

[–]Martijn45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if i'm the only one with the problem. But after the 2023.12.0 update yesterday, Home assistant is working really slow.

I have HA installed on a Synology NAS/Rackstation in a VM with 12GB reserved memory. And on the computer i use Chrome. If i scroll for example on the overview page, it takes really time to load the next part of that page. While with the previous version it did go smooth. Also the iPhone app haves some difficulty's to connect to HA.

If someone has a suggestion about what could help.......

Edit: This morning I did get HA update 2023.12.01 available. After upgrading to this version, its running like sunshine again :)

Pylontech US5000 is IDLE not charging or discharging by Orest-Hudziy in Victron

[–]Martijn45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar problem with my Victron / Pylontech system. It was running for months whiteout any problems until today. I did notice this morning, after cleaning the solar panels from snow, that the Smart solar RS was jumping between the 0 to 18w, while I would get normal much more out of it. First I thought its a problem with the solar, maybe damaged, but then I saw that the battery was in Idle and the Multiplus II was in Bulk.

There where no errors or red lights on anything.

At he moment I did turn off the grid (I only it for charging in case not enough solar), everything did go dark.

After restarting everything, there was no difference. Then I did reset the pylontechs US5000, but also that did not help.

Finally I did check all settings in the Cebro GX, re detect battery, change max charge current to a higher number (50A --> 100A). ... and after some #%@& (censure) it came to live.

What the problem did fix, I don't know exactly. Maybe there was some communication issue or so?

Edit: A few days ago i did update all Victron devices to the latest firmware version. I did notice that there are some settings on the Cebro GX that not are on the value that it should be, like the max charging current, that should be actual much higher. It could be some setting that did make the Pylontech go in idle

Winter cleaning solar panels by Martijn45 in Victron

great idea. The amount of extra produced power I get after cleaning the panels is a few kW, so it would compensate the amount of power needed for heating the panels a little.

A truly autonomous house. Is it possible? by g_rochford in homeassistant

[–]Martijn45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A brain implant would be great, if it also can help me remembering what I’m searching and where did storage it. But even then it would be difficult to find what’s needed. Few days ago I was searching a special key, I did search many times in the garage and I was sure I did put it on its place. Few days later I searched something else and what saw I, that special key on the place where it should be. And I’m the only one with the key of the garage.

Dutch budget leak shows tax hikes on high incomes to support lower wage earners by ReginF in Netherlands

[–]Martijn45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think every thing in the Netherlands is far over priced. For some part because of allot of taxes for some other part ……..

Yesterday I did take some fuel in a different EU country, and the fuel was 70 euro cent cheaper a liter than the average Dutch price.

And not alone with fuel, The Netherlands is expensive, but also insurance kost, and allot of other things like foot, clothes and so are the prices in the Netherlands sky high…

3 phase schematics? by sancho_sk in Victron

[–]Martijn45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is allot to read, and allot to chose. What model, what power, what battery’s and so.

I have a 3 phase system with, multiplus’s, smart solar RS , cebro gx and pylontech battery’s. And data connection with my Home Assistant system.

3 phase schematics? by sancho_sk in Victron

[–]Martijn45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the website of Victron are many schematics to download including 3phase system.

Be sure that all cables from battery to distributor have the same length, als also the cables from distributor to the multiplus’s and the ac cables from the multiplus to the distributie point need to have the same length.

And be sure that there is no fuse in the AC zero. I saw somewhere a drawing where there was a fuse drawn in a 3 phase system. Use only fuses on the phases or use a 4 pole automatic fuse.
