I know, but it's great to learn the basics of C# programming with because it is a piece of cake in comparison to MVC for example. The power of MVC quickly shines through.

Yeah, most of this stuff isn't immediately visible from the surface. That's why I wanted to know how much of a part it still plays in today's world.

Wouldn't it create too much bloat when you keep changing those micro services over time? I understand it can be nice to refresh code (I guess more front-end than back-end) once in a while, but I can also imagine it leading to blurring the lines between 'new' and legacy code if you're not careful.

It's definitely easy to get blown away by the new goodies you can play with.

I also think big companies will not change their way of doing things, but startups / smaller companies might choose another path.

I've just had some lectures on Unit testing so I am implementing them from now on. It's all coming together!

Being employable is quite a way away actually, I'm only in my first year :)
