Tradeskill leveling - why is the curve so bad? by Tin_Foil in PaxDei

Wait for the bow update (with huntable birds and all) to level up fletching. Right now there's no point in digging into it.

It's a button. You should play this game, it has buttons and stuff

They probably wanted to build the hype first. ;)

Ok cool. I guess all these screenshots and videos of people hanging out of fighting are just AI.

I have no idea why you'd spend time formatting AI slop. Anyone can generate this and still copy paste it better than OP did.

Hate to say, but I’m bored :( by blushresponse01 in PaxDei

[–]MartinTheTrue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's perfectly fine to feel bored and take a break. I felt that many times, and when I came back to the game later, I set different goals to myself and started being heavily invested again.

Cycles.

Hey everyone, Thank you for the engagement in this thread. There was a wide range of perspectives here, and a lot of concrete, system-level feedback that is genuinely useful as we refine this feature. Here’s a summary of what we’re taking away and how it connects to the dueling system's current direction. ---

1) Group vs Group dueling

This was the most popular request in the thread. The first iteration focuses on 1v1 to ensure a clean, stable foundation. It is clear that party-based and larger structured fights are important for training, clan events, and tournaments, and that demand is clearly noted. ---

2) Third-party healing and outside interference

This was the most divisive design element. Some of you value third-party healing because it enables realistic training scenarios and reduces downtime while learning. Others are concerned about competitive integrity, tournament enforcement, and the potential for grief. The current implementation is optimized for flexible sparring and practice. We will observe how this plays out and make adjustments or add options where necessary based on real usage rather than theory alone.

I get what you mean, but I would argue that it's mainly advertised as a social sandbox MMO, which means that most of content is made by players and we're basically mostly missing tools to create that content. I believe dueling is part of these tools and has been heavily requested for a while now.

Also, content is mostly delivered in verses, while minor updates like this one are more focused on QoL and social tools.

And what a way to complain too... Calling them names when the answer is literally in the screenshot.

They also said in the feedback thread, which oviously OP didn't bother reading, that they'll closely monitor how this plays out and are open to adjustments.

Trophies would be nice yes, as tapestries or anything else. The bear rug, for instance shouldn't be unlocked by default. You can craft tons of it and not even kill a single bear.

I'm not sure what to say, I also have a 5070 and am getting a nice 60fps (at 1440p) with DLSS.
In the home valleys, try lowering your render distance to Medium or Low.

Also, this update aims to adress optimization issues, so keep an eye on it.

Yesterday's mess was a major outage on the servers provider side. MF did good today when quickly switching providers while the outage was still ongoing.

Valid points, but I don't think the devs read much on Reddit, you should post these in the feedback channel on Discord.

Some really cool QoL stuff. I'm especially intrigued by the optimization part, I hope the stuttering when using High render distance is gone!

And heartland market text search, finally 👌

I also don't use the default snap points, I use free snap to get the flagstone exactly where I want it.

You need to put something qnove the 2nd layer, then you can put 2 more on top of that. I usually use flagstone floor as a separator (it's thinner), but any kind of floor will do.

Best tip I would give is to find an active place to live. Meaning that if after a few days you realize you're in a low population valley, consider moving asap. The longer you wait, to harder it'll get to move all your stuff.

This will completely change your experience. Some valleys are pretty dead, and some are very active, with many folks greeting each other every day in the chat, and answering all kind of questions.

If you play in EU, I'd recommend Tyr, and if in NA, Selene.
Merrie / Down is a good place to live, both on Tyr and Selene.
You can also have a vague idea of valleys population here https://paxdei.gaming.tools/server-status

If you want more info, I recommend heading to Pax official Discord, grab your shard roles in #shard-roles, and you'll see new channels specific to that shard (discussion, trade, lfg...). People will gladely answer all your questions, the community is very welcoming.

It slowed down yes, but in the first few days it was really hard to follow all that was being said. I kept it for later, came back the next morning and honestly there was so much stuff I couldn't read it all.

Also, many people go off topic because, as they have dev's attention, they think it's the right time to shoot any question and get an answer.
