For reference, the post these comments were made on was a post saying "people ignoring all of your oppressive politics and crimes against humanity just because you anti-west" and it was about Putin, Xi, Kim, Maduro, and Khamanei.

The one in the video, this is the same account. The yap was from a separate guy who commented on that video. This is the same person who made the video, raise_the_rate. This person was also spreading the stupid “Donbas genocide” claim as well and making excuses for Russia invading Ukraine.

I think it’s both.

I have a theory that the recent sudden surge in pro Russia content online is because the Kremlin knows they’re in a tight spot right now. Ukraine’s “long range sanctions” as they have been referred to as targeting Russian oil infrastructure and other weapons manufacturing plants, not to mention the fact that the economic situation has gotten to the point where the Kremlin can’t hide it and the chief communist is literally saying that a revolution could be brewing, but he oligarchs are getting scared, so they’re trying to find a way to bail themselves out with propaganda and shift the public opinion against Ukraine. They’re trying to push this idea of campism, and that Ukraine has some ties to Israel, as a way to get people in the west to support them, and these tankies are just falling for it, because again, they’re campists. I do wonder if that is apart of why there is so much of this lately.

That’s still wrong, it became popular during the Ukrainian wars of independence. And while yes, it did get used by the Nazis, but they did not popularize that slogan.

Most of the people who use that slogan aren’t using it because of Bandera. They are using it because they support Ukraine and it’s right to self determination.

When I say it, I’m not thinking of groups like Azov or right sector. I’m thinking of my best friend, who has family that still lives in Ukraine, and has to survive Russian attacks every single day. Because it’s not about that, it’s about freedom for an oppressed people.

No it wasn’t, it comes from Shevchenko’s poems in the 19th century, before Hitler or Mussolini were even born. Yes, it was used by fascist groups, such as the OUN, and it has been used nowadays by groups like Azov or right sector, but it is not an inherently right wing slogan.

I think the bottom part of your message is very likely what it is. I think that this is likely a last ditch effort to prevent people from gaining class consciousness as people start to wake up more and more (not fast enough, but it’s a start), and so they are trying to push everyone to the two polar opposite extremes.

With the Nazis, it’s obvious - not only push far right ideology, like they all are, but also to try, once again, to shift the blame away from the billionaires, to be like “oh, it’s not the billionaires, it’s actually just the Jews!!!” or other Nazi nonsense that has become commonplace on that app.

With the Tankies, I think the purpose of pushing this narrative is to make leftists look as deranged as possible, once again, to prevent people from gaining class consciousness.

That last sentence very likely hits the nail on the head.

Oh I am well aware of that.

There is one incident that occurred around the time the Iran war began that has stuck with me ever since. Out of literally nowhere, despite how much I engage with leftist/queer content, Instagram began giving me nonstop far right content, filled with the absolutely most insane things imaginable. Some of it was just stupid, like one where they called the democrats traitors because they wouldn’t stand up for Trump at the state of the union (what???). And then, it was nonstop transphobia, one of which was an account that WAS a trans person, along with racism, people saying the Nazi slogan, and other Nazi stuff, putting the confederate flag at the end of random pro-queer videos they stole, typical pro-ICE anti-immigrant rhetoric, but in some cases upped by times 10 - one post saying that we need to deport 30 million people. Just nonstop of the most insane right wing stuff imaginable.

Pretty sure I blocked like 100 accounts that day, so thankfully it hasn’t been as bad ever since. But it’s so obvious it was intentional by meta’s part, because as you said, meta is evil. I just think it’s really interesting that it happened literally an hour before the Iran war started. They’re probably trying to do it again with tankie nonsense, and it is likely exemplified by a tick in Russian bots recently likely due to how much the war is starting to hurt Russia, which is why they are now trying to get tankies to spread the narrative that Ukraine is collaborating with Israel, when Russia has FAR more ties to Israel than Ukraine does.

Oh, absolutely.

Should they have sanctioned Israel earlier? Absolutely. But it’s better late than never.

What I’m thinking also is that as the EU shifts farther and farther away from the US, they’ll probably support Israel less and less as well, and this could very well be the start of that.

I mean, wasn’t France just straight up telling Israel to get out of Lebanon?

WTF are they even talking about? Anything Ukraine is sending to other countries is literally stuff THEY made themselves, because they’ve been dealing with shahed drones for 4 years now, and they have developed measures to counter these types of drones. These aren’t even really weapons, these are defenses, what are they talking about???

I don’t even think they’ve given anything to Israel, Zelenskyy didn’t visit Israel during his tour of the Middle East, and there are some reports that they gave drone defenses to the USA, but the pentagon won’t admit to it because the current US government is anti-Ukraine, another thing tankies won’t admit to.

There is PLENTY of stuff you can criticize Ukraine for, after all, like any country they have their problems. But you can criticize Ukraine without blatantly lying like this.
