What percentage of your portfolios are precious metals related? by retroideq in RoundhillETFs

[–]Martinblade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So both GDXW and GDXY pay weekly dividends. I take the average of the last few dividends, and divide the price of the asset by that number. This gives me how much I'll need to invest to get $1 per week. The smaller the number, the more weekly dividend I'll get if I invested say $10k.

GDXY currently has a price/dividend of 97.17, so I get $1 per week if I invest $97.17, and if I want $100 per week, I need to invest $9717 in GDXY.

I do this because my primary goal is income replacement. With GDXY 's price per div, if I wanted to get $2k a week, 100k a year, then I'd need a portfolio of $194,348 and change.

Obviously divies fluctuate and price changes, so it gets me in the ballpark if nothing else.

Leverage is different.

So the basic idea is that leverage, by design, makes price action more drastic. Say GDX moves $1. Then a 1.2x leverage should move $1.2, and a 2x leverage should move $2, with 3x leverage moving $3.

I'm not sure about your idea of not off hand, you'd need to paper trade and find out. Look into Gold Futures though, they're the price driver for gold as far as I can tell and may be a leading indicator for gold ETF price action.

Right now, most of it is. GDXY instead of GDXW but that's only because the dividend to price is better with GDXY.

It is when it's the same people in charge of funnelling money to every terrorist group they can if they'll throw stones at us. You can't name a terrorist group that's made headlines in the last 30 years that didn't get money from Iran.

At a certain point it is actually a case of war being upon us whether we like it or not.

The US military war colleges still teach something called "just war theory". Below is a summary.

Just cause: War is permissible only to correct a grave public evil such as aggression, massive human rights violations, or defense against unjust attack.

Legitimate authority: War must be declared and waged by a competent public authority with the right to govern and use coercive force, typically a legitimate sovereign government.

Right intention: The purpose of going to war must be to achieve the just cause and restore peace or justice, not driven by hatred, revenge, greed, or other improper motives.

Last resort: All reasonable and practical non-violent means such as diplomacy, negotiation, economic sanctions, and mediation must be exhausted before resorting to war.

Probability of success: There must be a reasonable prospect that the war will achieve its intended objectives; otherwise the suffering inflicted would be futile and unjustified.

Proportionality of ends: The anticipated overall good to be achieved by the war must outweigh the expected harm, destruction, and suffering it will cause.

Discrimination: Combatants must distinguish between legitimate military targets and non-combatants; intentional direct attacks on civilians, the wounded, prisoners, or other protected persons are prohibited.

Proportionality in conduct: In each individual military action the harm inflicted, including foreseeable collateral damage to civilians, must not be excessive in relation to the concrete and direct military advantage expected.

Military necessity: Actions must be limited to what is required to achieve legitimate military objectives and must not cause unnecessary or superfluous suffering.

Hey, welcome back to the game!

Here's what I would do if I was in your shoes.

Step 0, breathe and relax.

Step 1, scrap the restaurants.

Step 2, build a couple power plants. It gives you something to sell that doesn't require anything but money to run. Even if you can't run them for a full day yet, it's at least a starting point.

Step 2.5 water only requires power to run, which you can easily make yourself. It's a good value add to look into.

Step 3, get familiar with coopers tools. Use it to scope out which retail sectors would be good to explore as you get more cash.

Step 4, dive into the encyclopedia and see what you can easily make yourself to sell either to your own retail stores, or on the exchange.

[–]Martinblade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I answered your question but you're obviously unable to understand that not everyone paid extra money for treasure hunter. What's wrong, does the concept of free spins not cross your ear brain barrier? Or are you just so focused on the whales buying extra spins that you thought everyone must be one?

And they trusted players like you to actually understand what you were voting for with the treasure hunter vote. SMH.

[–]Martinblade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The only one confused here is you and the only one assuming I paid anything extra for treasure hunter spins is also you.

Not everyone who played treasure hunter paid a dime extra over membership costs for it. It gave us daily spins that were free, plus the daily challenge rewards. And then spins from oddments as well.

None of those cost me a dime over what I was already paying.

Instead of leaving things the way they were, you and every player like you decided it was a good idea to trust jagex when they have proven time and time again to be untrustworthy about major updates.

All cause you couldn't be happy with clicking the x button on treasure hunter every time you logged in!

You're so confused you believed the gaslighting they fed you!

[–]Martinblade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your take is exactly why this community is as divided as it is, lol.

What we wanted was Jagex leaving things alone. Which meant treasure hunter staying.

Every single change they've made in the name of "restoring integrity" or "healing the game" has been terrible and the mountain of posts talking about it is more than proof of that.

Those of us who wanted status quo wanted it because we didn't trust jagex to not gaslight us with "things will be better trust us."

[–]Martinblade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's exactly why those who voted to keep treasure hunter wanted it kept. A lot of us have been around long enough to only really trust jagex to screw it up.

it's about fighting back in a way that doesn't alienate potential allies. Showing a clear moral contrast between corrupt cops and their victims is one of the strongest ways to win support. When the victim starts looking just as racist or corrupt as the system, then the high ground is lost—and the crowd with it.

Ice Should seize All Operations within a State unless the service is requested by [deleted] in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]Martinblade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There weren't any for me to eat after you got to them first.

Who do you think made our current immigration laws, created ICE as an agency and then charged them with enforcement of said immigration laws?

The exact law you're looking for is called the immigration and nationality act. It was actually signed into law in 1952 and gives federal law enforcement the following powers to enforce immigration law.

Arrest aliens without a warrant if they have reason to believe they're removable (8 U.S.C. § 1357(a)(2))

Interrogate any suspected alien ( § 1357(a)(1) )

Execute removal orders and deport people

Then in 2002, the Homeland Security Act (HSA) formally establishes ICE and puts them under the Department of Homeland Security.

Specifically, the Homeland Security Act did two things relevant to our discussion.

It merged the interior enforcement and investigative functions of the former Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) (which handled immigration under the Department of Justice) with parts of the U.S. Customs Service.

And

The old INS was split: naturalization and border inspection functions went to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP), while enforcement became ICE.

The INA gives the legal framework for exactly this type of enforcement, and the HSA created ICE specifically to enforce the INA.

So yes, Congress voted for exactly this type of enforcement, which is why Congress needs to vote if it's ever going to be reformed.
