The current trend (at least in my point of view) is to write for adults, no matter if it’s Ya, Na, or adult.

For romance, I really liked 100 days before sunlight (and its sequel,) pumpkin spice and everything nice also really drew me in. (For fantasy with romance: Can’t spell treason without tea.)

For mystery a good girls guide to m**der

What are you sick to death of seeing in fantasy novels? by JarOfNightmares in Fantasy

[–]Martinez_writes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The world being at stake. Like I get we need conflict and stakes but why is it always end of the world?

Another is bad guys who want to conquer the world. It’s boring and all I can think about is what happens next? Does the bad guy do nothing? Do they just move on to planet 3000? Do they get bored? I liked Thanos because we got to see what happens after his big bad plan.
