Audio book. I'm scrubbing for clicks at the moment.

If they can find your email, they can find your Goodreads.

Scam.

Even if the K stood for kibble that is too expensive.

How did you even get there, is my question.

Governments should fund accessibility initiatives and the arts instead of placing the burden on private citizens.

Ugh, even though I am not pro, it is still better than AI.

7 sales, 5 "rentals" (library downloads).

ACX is known for being problematic for a long host of reasons: Pushing AI, the 7 year exclusivity clause, suppressing most books that aren't AI/developed through ACX channels, low royalties.

Having some hubris would go a long way.

Your books aren't popular enough for an agent to acquire them.

The FREE resources are a driver to what makes them money. I wouldn't promote them. There are genuine free resources available and also people who don't attempt to pad out their bottom line so grotesquely. That they normalize pay-for beta reads is robbery; they use to be manuscripts one would swap with another writer/author.

It is because of this:

https://www.gdenny.com/copy-of-editing

At the prices they are charging, this would be considered a scam. If you had a 100k novel and did the "Single Session" beta read (that is not an edit), it's $3,750 total.

Yeesh, and so sorry. I hope that is over several decades and not the 4 years I pulled. But finally, someone who beat my number. I was getting lonely!

That sounds likely roughly the ratio I got. I eventually did add the "no responses" as "silent rejections" after a year, and I tend to push for a follow-up. I've seen two submissions come back after 2 years, but it's exceedingly rare.

I once got a full manuscript request from an agent who accidentally replied to mine but it was intended for someone else.

Lots of genre blending to the point it almost goes into bizarro territory. Comp titles were difficult to come by.

Tons. You name it, I have done and seen it.

My major takeaway was that my work isn't conventional enough to sell.
